Wind turbines are not sustainable because of the sound

Many places in the world is using Wind Turbines as their major power source. Some of the places have gaint wind turbines that generate a lot of energy. I have a client who has a giant wind turbine near his house in the Netherlands. The one major thing that he complains about is the noise.

We know there are so many advantages in having wind energy implemented but there are also disadvantages. I used to wonder why some peak coastal regions are not using wind energy for generating power but heavy noise may not work out very well for residential areas.

Problems with wind energy

We cannot really say that Wind energy is not a sustainable energy because we have some problems. It is one of the top energy generation medium in many countries. The biggest problem can be the noise it generates when the turbines are operating. But it is not just that, there is also one more problem which is affecting the birds. We can see many birds getting stuck in a wind turbine or die because of wind turbines.

Source

Mostly migratory birds have this problem and they get caught between the wind turbines. These artificial structures are required to generate power but they shouldn't be a threat to the other living species as well.

Wind energy in residential zones

This may not be a feasible solution because in residential region, we might need more power generated but small turbines may not be very helpful. Today there have been innovations where they are trying to reduce the noise of turbines and also have been thinking of alternatives for wind energy and some breakthrough has also been made.

There have been complaints that people get affected because of the sounds as they get insomnia and other mental health problems if they continue to live near wind turbines. In India, people who live near railway stations or a peak traffic zone usually have this problem and it is very hard to manage. Usually people get used to this sound and maybe it will not even be there when they sleep because they get used to it.

Not just the noise but what they are made out of like the blades cannot be just thrown away and are not recyclable at the moment. The problem is the carbon used to make these wind turbines and they are still green, but not as green as you would expect. The turbines positioned in the oceans do not only affect birds, but sea life like whales apparently as they let off a noise that carries under water..

well that is something that I might not thinking off. I have read abiut how dangerous the material that is used to make those turbine blade and other component, but never heard that the noise from the turbine can be that distubing as well.

I think there is no all green solution out there, because they might have a certain afffect on the wild.

It is exactly like this, because of them, a lot of problems are happening, pollution is increasing, and we get to see many other things.

Using wind power is very good, but noise pollution is a problem, so this energy can be utilized by controlling noise pollution and it should be installed in areas where there are no settlements.

It's important to continue innovating for quieter, bird-friendly wind solutions that can benefit both people and the planet.

I think that although wind power is environmentally friendly, it can cause environmental damage if problems such as noise pollution and bird loss are not urgently addressed.

New tech new tech, awesome. Quieter turbine tech and better wildlife protection could solve most of these issues. Wind power still has huge potential, but we need to make sure it works for both people and the environment

Wind energy is great for the environment, but I get the concerns. The noise from turbines can be hard for people living nearby, and it’s sad to think about the risks to birds and other wildlife. We need clean energy, but it’s also important to find ways to make it safer and less disruptive for both people and nature.

Wind turbine will soon be a source of energy in the future as I am so sure of that
