Yomei 10- Nen is a novel by Ruka Kosaka which was adapted into a film in 2022 with the title The Last 10 Years and stars Nana Komatsu and Kentaro Sakaguchi.
THE LAST 10 YEARS.
Matsuri Takabayashi (Nana Komatsu) is a student who is forced to stop her college activities because she is infected with a terminal illness that attacks her lungs. She has to live in the hospital for two years. Knowing that her illness can only make her survive for about 10 years, Nana tries to use the rest of her life for useful and enjoyable things.
Until a junior high school reunion, she met an old friend who he didn't really know, but knew Matsuri very well. Manabe Kazuto (Kentaro Sakaguchi) is an old friend who was once helped by Matsuri, even though Matsuri didn't really know him, Kazutoo tried to stay connected with Matsuri.
The obstacle of Matsuri's illness made her want to go as far away as possible from Kazuto because she didn't want to burden his life. However, for Kazuto, Matsuri is still the person he likes and the person who saved Kazuto's life twice.
- Takabayashi Matsuri (Nana Komatsu)
Depicted as someone who later accepted that she was sick and could not be saved. Even so, she did not stop her determination and dream of becoming a writer. Until finally her dream came true even though it had to be at the end of her life. Also described as someone who did not give up on giving meaning to her life. She continued to live a pleasant life at the end of the opportunity to live that God had given her.
Nana is very good at playing Matsuri, to the point where she says she wants to live long after meeting Kazuto is very painful. Nana is always able to act well. Matsuri fits the character of Nana Komatsu very well.
- Manabe Kazuto (Kentaro Sakaguchi)
Sakaguchi's facial features are a mysterious and gloomy man in my opinion. LOL. I think Kazuto's character development in this film is very good, also about the visuals that change little by little. I feel like I'm witnessing Kazuto's transformation from a depressed young man to a ramen shop owner and a man who loves Takabayashi Matsuri very much.
Sakaguchi also has unquestionable acting qualities. The small gestures made by Sakaguchi always feel meaningful. Kazuto is also played well by Sakaguchi.
If you are a lover of the romance and drama genres, this film is your destination. The sweet and bitter of a life dynamic. Meeting and the fate of separation are a package of signs that life is supposed to go that way.
Maybe you can enjoy this movie with your friends, boyfriend or family. Then, by watching this, we who are healthy can be more grateful.
