Gangs of London; My expectations were a little too much.

In my long years of watching Movies and TV shows, I've had the pleasure of watching a whole lot of Movies and TV shows that stole my attention from the very first scene and got me invested in the story for the entirety of the show. When you come across projects like that, it makes you feel like having it on replay.

There have also been moments when I decided to watch a Movie or TV show, even the ones that are getting a whole lot of hype with very good ratings, yet the show fails to impress or live up to expectations. That's never a good experience, especially for someone like myself who often tries to just watch till the end before ticking a film project as a success or failure.

There is a British TV show which I've been digging for a few weeks and it would interest you to see how I rate this between being a success or a failure. Hehe. Read on to get the answer;

TVShow: Gangs Of London.

Genre: Crime, Action, Thriller.

Seasons: 2 (16 episodes total)

I already know that the gang life in London isn't a joke. In addition to that, I'm a big fan of the British accent. So, when I hear of a TV show titled Gangs Of London, you can imagine how much I would like to watch it. In addition to that, the guy who was highlighted as the lead character happens to be the same dude who played John Shelby in the Peaky Blinders show.

After doing a little bit of research, I decided to add this show to my watchlist and I've had the pleasure of watching 14 out of the 16 episodes of the 2 seasons of the show. The first season kicked off with all the right tickers. The premise of the story in the pilot episode built a great deal of tension. A lot of factions were introduced and each faction had the potential to cause a great deal of conflict.

The projected main character, Sean Wallace, is the son of a gang boss and his Dad is quite reputable in the crime world as someone who started from the bottom until he built an enterprise and legalized most of his business. The man was killed in the opening sequence of the pilot episode of season 1 and the mantle of leadership switched to his son, Sean Wallace.

Sean wanted to command respect while making sure he continued running the family business. In the same manner, he's digging deep to find those that murdered his Dad and serve them a punishment that's "worst". He got entangled with Elliot in the process without knowing that Elliot was penetrating into the organization as a Police Undercover Agent.

Well, all hell surely got let loose.

I'm glad I didn't have to wait a full year or more for the second season of this show. The first season ended in a cliffhanger after we saw Elliot shoot Sean on the cheek. It was hinted that Sean died from that gunshot and the first two episodes of the second season didn't show any sign that Sean was alive.

When we finally got to realize what happened, everything felt like the result of the indecisiveness of the scriptwriters. The show lost its taste after the first season. The second season wasn't nearly as intriguing as the first and I still can't understand why they made Sean Wallace's character feel like a pushover. I'm never certain he could handle his own in a 1v1 against anyone in the show. That's awful.

Well, I decided to watch this because of Sean, and I must say his character isn't nearly as strong as you would expect from a gang boss of his pedigree. I kinda wish I never got to watch this show. I'm not even messing around.

Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop or Comma.

I was actually thinking of adding this to my list of movies to watch but on second thoughts, I’d rather not.😂

I hate movies that take away all the fun after they keep you in suspense for so long.

Lol... This has been in my watchlist for a very long time. I finally decided to watch it and I've been watching the TvShow for over a month. Haha. I can't seem to just get through it.

The show is way below my expectation

Lol... you just rated a movie to zero without even saying the word, zero. Haha, this is very interesting.

That's it with American series. I don't like them because they always fuck up. I prefer their movies any time. Let them do their nonsense for 2 hours so I can either treasure the movie or find the barest dustbin to thrash it. Lol.

Lol... A bunch of these TvShows are now a hit or miss. This particular one wasn't a hit at all. They failed to live up to what was expected of them. And, I'm already hearing of a third season.

That will be for others to enjoy. I'm out.

I fully understand the roller coaster of emotions that can come with watching a highly anticipated project. It's always exciting to watch a series that grabs you from the first scene and keeps you hooked. Those are the real gems that one can't wait to see again. I didn't know this one, it looks super good It's always frustrating when a series loses its way, especially when the first season was so promising, it's happened to me a lot. 👋😌

Exactly. That's the exact issue I'm facing with this series. The first season was really good and I had several moments that made me feel like binge watching it. However, everything is already falling apart in the second season of the show

I was looking forward to the movie, but thanks for letting us on this. Let's not waste our data 😌.

The movie sounds interesting tho, but I won't download it 😁

Haha... As a big fan of The Peaky Blinders series, I genuinely wanted this series to do well because of the lead character in this who played John Shelby in The Peaky Blinders.

However, his character doesn't have the sauce I need from a show of this nature. Haha. It could still be a good watch. It just didn't impress me as I dug deeper into the series.

Academics can be like that. Haha. It makes us busy to the point where nothing else really matters to us.
