🎬 Movie Review: It Feeds [ES/EN]

¡Hola amigos! Hoy me paso por acá para traerles la reseña de una película de terror que vi hace poco y que logró sorprenderme. Así que acá les hablaré acerca de It Feeds.

Hello friends! Today I'm dropping by to bring you a review of a horror movie that I saw recently and that managed to surprise me. So here I will tell you about It Feeds.

Trama - Plot

La historia trata de una terapeuta que tiene el don de la clarividencia y ayuda a sus pacientes con terapias no convencionales donde los induce a hipnosis y se mete en sus mentes para descubrir aquellos traumas que los paralizan para poder superarlos. Un día en medio de una sesión aparece una niña desesperada diciendo que ve un ente que la atormenta y se alimenta de ella. Jordan, la hija de la terapeuta, se encarga de recibirla y anotar todo lo que le dice hasta que se asoma su madre y ve al demonio que la tiene prisionera. Aunque no pueden hacer mucho porque el padre de la niña entra a la fuerza y se la lleva alegando que está exagerando y que no necesita terapia. No contenta con ello, Jordan decide investigar el paradero de la niña para ayudarla, pero al final termina exponiéndose al peligro y siendo la nueva víctima de esta criatura que se alimenta de las personas que habita hasta consumirlas. Ahora Cynthia deberá encontrar la manera de enfrentarse a ella y salvar a su hija.

The story is about a therapist who has the gift of clairvoyance and helps her patients with unconventional therapies where she induces them to hypnosis and gets into their minds to discover those traumas that paralyze them in order to overcome them. One day in the middle of a session a desperate girl appears saying that she sees an entity that torments her and feeds on her. Jordan, the therapist's daughter, is in charge of receiving her and writing down everything she says until her mother shows up and sees the demon that is holding her prisoner. They can't do much, though, because the girl's father breaks in and takes her away, claiming she's overreacting and doesn't need therapy. Not content with that, Jordan decides to investigate the girl's whereabouts to help her, but in the end she ends up exposing herself to danger and becoming the new victim of this creature that feeds on the people it inhabits until it consumes them. Now Cynthia must find a way to confront it and save her daughter.

La trama me sonaba interesante por lo que decidí darle una oportunidad y la verdad es que estoy teniendo una buena racha siguiendo mi intuición. Fue una película entretenida, y con bastante suspenso, uno no sabía lo que iba a pasar hasta el final. Creo que ese fue su punto débil, en un momento se desvirtuó un poco. Pero en general mantuvo un buen ritmo y es un film que se deja disfrutar.

The plot sounded interesting to me so I decided to give it a chance and the truth is that I am having a good run following my intuition. It was an entertaining movie, and quite suspenseful, you didn't know what was going to happen until the end. I think that was its weak point, at one point it did get a bit twisted. But in general it kept a good pace and it is a film that you can enjoy.

No me lleve grandes sustos, pero la historia estuvo atrapante. Además, creo que fue todo una metáfora a la maldad que puede existir en las personas y que nuestros monstruos internos pueden venir de viejos traumas del pasado provocados por otros. Parece increíble, pero hasta logró emocionarme un poco al final. También nos habla de lo que es capaz de enfrentar una madre para proteger y salvar a su hija. Otra manera de superar traumas es tener la determinación suficiente para cuidar de aquellos a quienes amamos, esto nos da el impulso para superar cualquier obstáculo. Me encantó ver a Ashley Greene en este papel.

I didn't get any big scares, but the story was gripping. Also, I think it was all a metaphor for the evil that can exist in people and that our inner monsters can come from old past traumas provoked by others. It seems unbelievable, but it even managed to move me a little at the end. It also tells us about what a mother is capable of facing to protect and save her daughter. Another way to overcome trauma is to be determined enough to take care of those we love, this gives us the drive to overcome any obstacle. I loved seeing Ashley Greene in this role.

Por otro lado, su punto flojo fue la batalla final. Creo que fue un toque fantasioso y bastante simple a todo lo que estuvo ocurriendo en la trama. Además de que no entendí el cambio de vestimenta, ni esos peinados y maquillaje amazónicos jaja. Bueno, fue bastante loca esa parte, imposible no reparar en esos detalles que parecen minúsculos, pero hacen ruido.

On the other hand, its weak point was the final battle. I think it was a fantasy touch and quite simple to everything that was happening in the plot. Besides, I didn't understand the change of clothes, nor those amazonian hairstyles and makeup haha. Well, it was pretty crazy that part, impossible not to notice those details that seem minuscule, but make noise.

Por supuesto que también hubo otros detalles a considerar, pero la verdad es que cumplió mis expectativas. No es lo mejorcito que vi en una película de este género, pero sí fue mejor que muchas otras que dan risa en vez de miedo. Así que si te llama la atención o te gusta el género te la recomiendo.

Of course there were other details to consider, but the truth is that it met my expectations. It's not the best I've seen in a movie of this genre, but it was better than many others that give laughter instead of fear. So if it catches your attention or you like the genre I recommend it.
