Hace unos 3 años, casi sin quererlo, porque era un programa de televisión donde ponían una película nueva y no quería ver nada, el comentario de un crítico de cine me dejó amarrada al butacón para asistir aquel filme que había recomendado. Su comentario dejaba ver que sería una experiencia extraña y completamente diferente. Recuerdo que dijo que si no estabas de humor o sentimentalmente estable no era saludable verla. Y fue ahí donde el desafío me llevó a una experiencia inquietante que aún no puedo describir con otra palabra.

Hablo de "LAMB".

"Cordero" en español, es una película que nos lleva a una experiencia sensorial y emocional que se te queda grabada a fuego.

Esta es la ópera prima de Valdimar Jóhannsson, es un ejercicio de audacia narrativa y maestría atmosférica que logra lo que pocas películas consiguen, crear un mundo con reglas propias y sumergirte en él sin necesidad de explicaciones.

La Atmosfera creada es una verdadera protagonista. Este es, sin duda, el mayor logro de la cinta. Jóhannsson, en colaboración con el legendario director húngaro Béla Tarr como productor ejecutivo, construye un tono que es a la vez melancólico, abominable y extrañamente conmovedor. El silencio, roto solo por el viento, el balido de las ovejas y una banda sonora minimalista, es abrumador. Cada plano, desde un primerísimo plano de un ojo de oveja hasta un paisaje épico de montañas islandesas, está cargado de significado y una belleza lúgubre. La película respira tristeza y suspense.

En el fondo, "Cordero" es una metáfora potentísima sobre cómo el duelo no elaborado puede llevar a comportamientos irracionales y peligrosos. La película explora con crudeza cómo los humanos intentamos "reemplazar" lo perdido, a menudo ignorando la ética y las leyes naturales, creando una felicidad frágil y artificial.

Es una de esas películas que divide al público, pero que enriquece el panorama cinematográfico por su puro atrevimiento. Una oveja negra o en este caso, una muy peculiar en el rebaño del cine convencional.
