The Devil on Trial, Review (ENG/SPA)
Hello, internet people, everything ok? Today I decided to watch this documentary that explores the story of The Conjuring: The Devil made me do it but from a more "realistic" perspective, let's say from the criminal side and not the paranormal, I found it quite interesting.
Hola, gente de internet, ¿todo bien? Hoy decidí ver este documental que explora la historia de El Conjuro: El diablo me obligó a hacerlo pero desde la perspectiva más "realista" digamos que desde la parte criminal y no la paranormal, me pareció bastante interesante.
The documentary follows the events surrounding the first and only trial in which the paranormal was used as a defence (as silly as it sounds) Arne Cheyenne Johnson stabbed his landlord to death and later claimed that he was unaware of what he did and that he was possessed.
El documental sigue los hechos ocurridos al rededor del primer y únco juicio en el que se empleó lo paranormal como argumento de defensa (por tonto que parezca) Arne Cheyenne Johnson asesinó a su arrendador a puñaladas y más tarde señaló que no esaba consciente de lo que hizo y que fue poseído
Apparently, according to the family, it all started when Arne and the family's daughter moved out and her family went to help them rearrange the furniture, the boy apparently entered a room alone and felt he was pushed and saw a demon on top of him. From then on the boy began to swear and be rude to his parents, as well as behaving aggressively, which led his mother to believe that the boy was indeed possessed.
Al parecer según realta la familia, todo empezó cuando Arne y la hija de la familia se mudaron y la familia de ella fue a ayudarlos a arreglar los muebles, al parecer el niño entró solo a una habitación y sintió que lo empujaron y vio a un demonio sobre él. De ahí en más el niño empezó a blasfemar y a ser grosero con sus padres, además de coportamientos agresivos lo que llevó a su madre a pensar que en efecto el niño estaba poseído
The "problem" was when during the exorcism of little Arne he challenged the demon to leave the child and enter him, which in the opinion of the Warren's (a couple of famous demonologists dealing with the case) was a huge mistake and was the trigger for the crime that followed.
El "problema" estuvo cuando durante elexorcismo del pequeño Arne desafió al demonio diciendole que dejara al pequeño y que entrara en él, locual en opinión de los Warren (una pareja dedemonologos famosos que se ocupaban del caso) fue un kraso error y además fue el detonante para el crimen que se suscitó más adelante
The documentary explores the criminal side of the story with evidence and testimony from those involved, and technically depicts the Warrens as con artists who took advantage of the family's beliefs to make money at their expense and that everything else was a chain of unfortunate events. I won't give any more details to avoid spoilers as the documentary is well worth watching without any posturing.
El documental explora la pate criminal con pruebas y testimonios de los involucrados, además técnicamente representan a los Warren como estafadores que se aprovecharon de las creencias de la familia para ganar dinero a su costa y que todolo demás fue una cadena de eventos desafortunados. No doy más detalles para no hacer spoiler ya que la verdad vale mucho la pena ver el documental sin ninguna postura
I had previously seen documentaries from the Warren's point of view, and now I wanted to see the other point of view, the scientific, psychological and criminal. The documentary is on Netflix so I recommend you go and watch it :3

The truth is, I had no idea this documentary existed. I've always been intrigued by the Warrens' story and all their cases, and this boy's case is super famous because of the movie. But I find it much more interesting to see the other side of the coin, the criminal and psychological side, without all the paranormal fantasy. You've made me want to look it up. Thanks for the recommendation!
