Recién tuve la oportunidad de ver la secuela de una de las películas que mas me gusto cuando era niña, “Un viernes de locos” esta película la llegue a ver muchísimas veces y nunca me aburria, tiene mucha comedia y una formula que funciona bastante bien y la hace adictiva, además de que amaba la mayoría de películas donde salia Lindsay Lohan, como mean girls, parent trap e incluso herbie, me encantaba LINDSAY Lohan demasiado y este look rokero de un viernes de locos me hacia sentir muy identificada. Una película maravillosa… Ahora hablemos de esta nueva versión de esta película que recién se estreno el mes pasado y que me hizo sentir muchas dudas cuando me enteré de su estreno, ya que normalmente las segundas partes no son buenas y mas si hablamos de una película que lleva 20 años.
I just had the chance to see the sequel to one of the movies I liked the most when I was a kid, “Freaky Friday.” I saw this movie many times and I never got bored, it has a lot of comedy and a formula that works quite well and makes it addictive, plus I loved most of the movies where Lindsay Lohan appeared, like Mean Girls, Parent Trap and even Herbie, I loved Lindsay Lohan too much and this rocker look from Freaky Friday made me feel very identified. A wonderful movie… Now let’s talk about this new version of this movie that just premiered last month and that made me feel very doubtful when I found out about its release, since normally the second parts are not good and even more so if we are talking about a movie that is 20 years old.
Como era de esperarse, la formula, aunque funciona muy bien, se repite de nuevo pero esta vez de una manera mas confusa, ya que volvemos a ver un intercambio de cuerpos, pero esta vez no solo involucra a Anna y su madre Tess, sino tambien a la hija de Ana y la hija de su prometido Eric. Anna conoce a Eric y se enamoran, pasa un tiempo y deciden casarse, evidentemente Harper y Lily no se llevan bien y justo antes de la boda consultan a una médium super random que es quien activa este intercambio de cuerpos, para asi aprender a comprenderse una a la otra y aprender a amarse como familia.
As expected, the formula, although it works very well, is repeated again but this time in a more confusing way, since we see a body swap again, but this time it not only involves Anna and her mother Tess, but also Anna's daughter and the daughter of her fiancé Eric. Anna meets Eric and they fall in love, some time passes and they decide to get married, evidently Harper and Lily do not get along and just before the wedding they consult a super random medium who is the one who activates this body swap, in order to learn to understand each other and learn to love each other as a family.

Esta versión tiene sus cosas buenas y cosas malas, es la segunda parte de una película que en su momento fue vista por personas que hoy en día tenemos 30 años o más, asi que tenían que adaptar esta película para que fuese vista no solo por esa generación si no tambien por las nuevas generaciones. Esto nos lleva a chistes que sinceramente en su mayoría no funcionan, me saco alguna que otra carcajada, pero no tanto como esperaba, o como me paso con la primera película en la cual hasta el día de hoy me sigo riendo de algunas situaciones. Y algo que me molesta mucho de ver en una película o serie actual es los chistes que hacen referencia a memes o palabras que inventan hoy en día como “gaslighting“ que, aunque entiendo sus significados no me parecen nada gracioso. Esto mismo me paso viendo la ultima temporada de Merlina, muchos chistes con palabras que solemos usar solo en internet, lo hace ver poco natural.
This version has its good and bad points. It's the second part of a film that at the time was seen by people who are now 30 years old or older, so they had to adapt this film so that it would be seen not only by that generation but also by the new generations. This leads us to jokes that honestly, for the most part, don't work. It got me to laugh a few times, but not as much as I expected, or as happened with the first film, in which to this day I still laugh at some situations. And something that really bothers me when I see a current film or series are jokes that reference memes or words invented today like "gaslighting," which, although I understand their meaning, don't seem funny to me at all. This same thing happened to me watching the last season of Wednesday; many jokes with words that we usually only use on the internet, making it seem unnatural.

Siento que todo pasa tan lento y a la vez tan rápido, no se explicarlo, pero había momentos donde esperabas que pasara la siguiente cosa, pero tambien pasaban demasiadas cosas innecesarias o escenas super rápidas de como las 4 estan viviendo su día en el cuerpo de la otra. Hablando un poco de las actuaciones en general las actrices más jóvenes no destacaron demasiado, Jamie Lee Curtis siempre luciéndose y Lindsay Lohan creo que estuvo bien tambien.
I feel like everything happens so slowly and yet so quickly at the same time. I can't explain it, but there were moments where you were waiting for the next thing to happen, but there were also too many unnecessary things happening or super-fast scenes of how the four of them are living their day in each other's bodies. Speaking a little about the acting in general, the younger actresses didn't stand out too much; Jamie Lee Curtis always shined, and I think Lindsay Lohan was good too.

A comparación de la primera película esta no sería una película que volvería a ver, no esta mal ni esta bien, simplemente es una película entretenida para ver un domingo en casa, no creo que haya sido necesario estrenarla en cines ya que siento que no vale demasiado la pena verla en cine.
Compared to the first film, this isn't a film I would watch again. It's neither bad nor good, it's simply an entertaining film to watch at home on a Sunday. I don't think it was necessary to release it in theaters since I feel it's not worth seeing in theaters.

Se agradecen las diferentes referencias que hubo de la primera película, incluso la canción take me away que se convirtió en un himno de esta película, pero definitivamente la referencia que mas me mato de risa tiene que ver con Jake, no conseguí fotos de la escena pero básicamente al final de la película presenta a su nueva novia la cual esta vestida idéntica a la doctora Tess Colleman de la primera película, el mismo vestido, peinado, TODO jajaja, se nota que ese muchacho quedo muy enamorado de la doctora y nunca lo pudo admitir al 100%
The different references to the first film are appreciated, including the song Take Me Away that became an anthem of this film, but definitely the reference that made me laugh the most has to do with Jake, I didn't get any photos of the scene but basically at the end of the film he introduces his new girlfriend who is dressed identical to Dr. Tess Colleman from the first film, the same dress, hairstyle, EVERYTHING hahaha, you can see that this boy fell very much in love with the doctor and could never admit it 100%.

The first Freaky Friday is such a classic, and Lindsay Lohan + Jamie Lee Curtis made it unforgettable. From what you shared, it sounds like this new version tried to balance old fans and new audiences but didn’t fully land. Still, those little references to the original sound like a nice touch!
Por eso dicen que las segundas versiones nunca superaran la primera, la verdad no me llama la atención ver esta segunda versión de la película, aunque la primera fue buena, una segunda no tenía sentido, pero todo sea por unirlas otra vez, tal vez la vea más adelante por curiosidad jeje, saludos.
Muchas peliculas no debieron tener una segunda parte jaja, pero recurrir a la nostalgia de muchos de nosotros que ahora somos adultos es una mina de oro. Igual si esta buena para "pasar el rato"
Espero disfrutarla pronto. Me ha encantado encontrarme esta reseña, porque quiero verla pronto. Comprendo que la primera fue un boom y entendemos que la segunda tomara un tiempo para convertirse en un clásico como la primera. Un abrazo.
