A magical November 8th: welcoming my little girl 🥰 (ENG/ESP)

Hello everyone, I think the time has come for me to join this beautiful community, because even though I still can’t believe it… I am now a mom 🥰, the greatest blessing of all.

I really enjoyed my pregnancy stage and I even shared many photos of my baby bump here, storytimes from my check-ups, and overall it was a very beautiful process from which I’ll keep those memories forever.

Today I would like to tell you about that first day with my daughter, what it was like to finally meet her and how everything happened with the delivery.

My little princess Emily Elizabeth was born this past November 8th, and it was quite unexpected. Let me tell you, that day my husband and I went to the hospital because the doctor who assisted my sister-in-law during her delivery was on duty, and he invited us to see the place and explain my options. That day I was 39 weeks and 6 days pregnant, but still with no signs of labor. Still, I packed the essentials in a small backpack just in case something happened while we were there.

When we arrived, I talked with the doctor about my options, and in the end we decided that a C-section would be the best choice for me. The surprise came when he told me he could do it that very same day 😲. At first, I was a bit in shock because I wasn’t prepared for that yet, but after thinking it through, I realized it was the best option and we immediately started preparing everything.

The first thing I did was call my mom to tell her that I would not be going back home that day and for a very good reason 😁. Then I was admitted and they began monitoring me; the C-section was scheduled for 3:00 in the afternoon.

After making sure everything was fine, they took me to the room where I would wait, fasting, until the time of the surgery. As the hours went by, my anxiety kept growing. Many thoughts and fears crossed my mind, but the one that stood out the most was that I was finally going to meet my daughter that same afternoon, and that excitement was greater than the fear.

Exactly at 3 o’clock they came to get me to start preparing. My nerves were on edge, but I tried to stay calm, and my husband was right there by my side supporting me every second. When I entered the operating room, the doctor asked if I wanted to listen to some music, and of course I said yes. My daughter came into the world to the music of James Blunt, one of my favorite singers. It helped me relax during the process.

The injection in my back was hard, I even jumped a little without meaning to, but the worst part was when the anesthesia started working and I felt like I was going to faint. Thankfully, my husband was right next to me and began fanning me with his hand until the discomfort passed.

I could feel everything they were doing, but there was no pain at all, and the magical moment when I heard my baby girl cry for the first time is indescribable. I couldn’t help crying from the emotion of knowing she was finally born and that she was okay. The nurse placed her next to my face while they finished the surgery, and I talked to her the whole time to calm her down with my voice. Truly, it is such a beautiful moment that makes the entire process worth it.

My husband was my greatest support. While I recovered from the anesthesia, he took care of our baby, and it was so beautiful to see him as a father that just made me love him even more. I honestly only have beautiful memories from that first day with my daughter, a day I will never forget 🥰.

Hola a todos, creo que ha llegado el momento de unirme a esta bella comunidad, pues aunque todavía no me lo creo, ya soy mamá 🥰, la bendición más grande de todas.

Mi etapa de embarazada la disfruté mucho y hasta compartí por aquí muchas fotos de mi pancita, storytime de mis consultas, en fin fue un proceso muy bonito del cual tendré esos recuerdos para siempre.

Hoy me gustaría contarles sobre ese primer día con mi hija, como fue el finalmente conocerla y como sucedió todo con el parto.

Mi pequeña princesa Emily Elizabeth nació el pasado 8 de noviembre y fue algo bastante inesperado. Les cuento, ese día mi esposo y yo fuimos al hospital pues el doctor que le habia hecho el parto a mi cuñada estaba de guardia ese día y nos invitó a ver el lugar y explicarme mis opciones. Yo ese día tenia 39 semanas de embarazo con 6 días, pero aun sin señales de labor de parto. De todas maneras llevé lo esencial en una pequeña mochila en caso de que pudiera suceder algo estando allí.

Al llegar allí hablé con el doctor de mis opciones, y al final decidimos que una cesárea sería lo mejor para mí. La sorpresa vino cuando me dijo que me la podía hacer ese mismo día 😲. Al principio me quedé un poco en shock pues no estaba preparada para eso aún, pero después de pensarlo mejor vi que era la mejor opción y enseguida comenzamos a preparar todo.

Lo primero que hice fue llamar a mi mamá para decirle que no iba a volver a casa ese día y por una buena razón 😁, luego me admitieron y comenzaron a monitorearme, la cesárea sería para las 3 de la tarde.

Después de ver que todo estuviera bien me pasaron para el cuarto en donde iba a esperar en ayuno hasta la hora de la operación. Mientras pasaban las horas mi ansiedad iba creciendo, muchos pensamientos y miedos pasaban por mi cabeza, pero el que más sobresalía era el de que iba a conocer a mi hija esa misma tarde, la emoción era más grande que el miedo.

Exactamente a las 3 en punto vinieron a buscarme para empezar a prepararme, los nervios a flor de piel pero tratando de mantenerme tranquila y con mi esposo a mi lado apoyándome en todo momento. Al entrar al salón el doctor me preguntó si quería escuchar alguna música y claro que acepté, mi hija vino al mundo con música de James Blunt, uno de mis cantantes preferidos, fue una forma de relajarme durante el proceso.

La inyección en la espalda fue difícil, hasta di un salto involuntario, pero lo peor fue cuando la anestesia comenzó a hacer efecto, empecé a sentir que me desmayaba. Gracias a mi esposo que estuvo a mi lado todo el tiempo y comenzó a echarme aire con la mano se me pasó ese malestar.

Se sentía todo lo que me hacían pero sin dolor alguno y el momento mágico en que oí el llanto de mi niña es indescriptible, no pude evitar llorar de la emoción al saber que ya había nacido y estaba bien. Las enfermera me la puso junto a mi cara mientras terminaban de operarme y conversé con ella todo el tiempo para calmarla con mi voz. La verdad que es un momento muy bonito que vale la pena todo el proceso.

Mi esposo fue mi máximo apoyo, mientras me recuperaba de la anestesia el se encargó de la niña y que lindo verlo como padre, en realidad solo tengo bellos recuerdos de ese primer día con mi hija, un día que nunca olvidaré 🥰.
