The Christmas Season has begun!

The Christmas Season has begun!

It's that magical time of year again motherhood! and how exciting is it as the year draws to a close with things beginning to look a lot more fun and exciting. Entire communities coming together to enjoy the festivities and fun all around and as each year goes by I get to have a new experience with my children.

Oh my, 6 and 3 these ages are becoming quite the challenge as both little miss and little blokes personality begin to emerge and more so little miss becomes her own autonomous person with needs, wants and.... opinions lol

Gone are the days of having a single child where I could tell a fib to get things moving oh no, it doesn't work when you have two kids as the older one knows exactly what you're doing and informs the younger one. But back to the main purpose of this post, Christmas!

Rehmat Sandhu Foundation Christmas Party

Each year the Rehmat Sandhu Foundation holds a community Christmas party in a local park for all the families in the area, many families within our working class community struggle to put food on the table with the climbing interest rates so this wonderful community event is a much needed boost to community spirit and moral.

The event has lots of wonderful community fun activities and FREE things like fairy floss, popcorn, community BBQ, Face Painting and most importantly FREE Christmas presents for the kids as well as a guest appearance from Santa himself!

So as soon as we got there the kids wanted fairy floss so we got stuck waiting in line for some fair floss which was quite the popular thing. While I waited in line the kids got to have a bit of a run around while I kept an eye on them from the line.

One thing I find kids really enjoy is bubbles for some reason and at this event they brought someone in to make giant bubbles which had all the kids in a fit of excitement. I have to admit I was pretty impressed by the sheer size of the bubbles.

Most the time the kids just ran up and down trying to catch the bubbles and due to their size when they burst it was like a bucket of water drenching all the kids. I found it quite funny, especially when one often went over the crowd and burst on top of the lines of people soaking everyone.

The weather wasn't the best but it still drew a decent sized crowd with many people attending and getting amongst the action and festivities.

It was such a wonderful event and we attend each and every year.

Do you have things like this in your community where you're from? how do you celebrate Christmas?

I always say that Christmas is for the children, but the truth is that we adults are very happy at this time of the year to see our little ones enjoying themselves, especially in activities like yours where everyone collaborates to have a nice celebration, which teaches them the importance of sharing and giving.
