Resident Hive Economist / Dustbin man Clive is Raging That HBD Interest is being Messed With.
Clive is seething today and is stewing over the plan that some witnesses are decreasing their HBD interest rate from 20% down to a lousy 12% ROI.
"How could they do such a thing? thought Clive.
"12 bleeding percent!"
"I might as well just convert my HBD back into Hive power now if that is the case,"
"How are we meant to attract users to the platform if we are not promoting the HBD at 20% anymore" thought Clive who had been squirreling away his HBD since the increase to 20% came last year and had accumulated a tidy enough amount of HBD.
In fact Clive had hoped to retire in a few years and live off the 20% interest ROI if the gods at Hive left the bloody interest rate at 20%. Now Clive had to work another 5 years before he had enough passive HBD coming into cover his income. Clive had always like economics and had become the mouth piece for the "Stay at 20% ROI " that the Hive community rallied around. The technical complexities of the interest rate being at 20% ROI were none of Clive's business however. Demand and Supply and all that malarky. That was besides the point. He just wanted it to stay at 20% to enjoy the fruits of HBD.
"The fatcats upstairs are doom mongering saying that it looks like a scam that we are at 20% ROI for a coin where no other coin has that kind of return. Not even DRIP and that's as dodgy as fuck."
"I'm gonna form a group to un-elect the witness who decreases their ROI down to 12% and see how they like it when they start tumbling down the witness ladder out of the top 30. That will show them."
Clive is adamant on no technical basis whatsoever that HBD needs to remain at 20%. He had a rough day on the bin lorry when a wheelie bin full of shitty nappies fell on top of him. Unluckily for him and open nappy hit him smack bang in the face leaving him with a "dirty Sanchez" as they had called it in the waste industry . He grabbed for a cloth to wipe his soiled face only to pick up a used sanitary towel from the same house and ended up with a "Dirty Sanchez with ketchup". The worst Kind!! These were the kinds of days where you picked up all sorts of diseases and he was only given the all clear from having pink eye the other day. In the Hive world however he was Alan Greenspan controlling the narrative on the 20% ROI, rallying the masses against the fat cats and making sure he had a piece of that 20% pie that was nice and clean and digital.
Even though the witnesses in question gave a reasonable explanation into why they should decrease the interest rate, Clive does not give a shit, it is the principal of the matter. The lads down in his local pub used to be bored stiff from Clive asking what interest rate they were getting on their savings in their banks. When the replies were 0-1% Clive used to laugh and boost he was getting 20% with HBD. 12% would not sound as big enough so he could no longer spend his evenings waxing lyrical about this magical coin called Hive where you get paid to post about any kind of shite and get paid for it. Hell Clive was an expert at this. He posted about the 20% interest rate every other post and how Hive was going to be the future but he just changed the words around a bit and got the usual upvote from Hive maximalists. On the way to the pub he posted about "Evening Walk (to the pub) and showed the lads his rewards from the post. He once did a trick of using his post rewards to buy a round for the pub. Luckily it was a post that accelerator got a hold of so he was able to splash out and buy the ten auld fellas on the bar stools a pint of Guinness. For the first time in his life people began to take notice of Smelly Clive the dustbin man. It was the best night of his life that night and he had Hive to thank.
Now these geeks in control of the blocks on Hive were taking away his precious 20% HBD rate and he had to stand up to them. Some learned Hive users who he knew as a step down from the fatcats were trying to convince him otherwise but Clive stood stern and brushed the factual information aside. He did not care if 20% ROI was only temporary, was only a promo. It was Clives future and he had gone all in from all the overtime on the bin lorries. It was time for Clive to become good at Maths, something he was always weak at. He opened his junior infants maths book and started on simple addition and subtraction. It was tough but he soon got the hang of adding. He was no on take-aways which he was getting mixed up with food delivery but he really concentrated his mind to get it off food. After several hours he could add anything under 10 and subtract two digits under 5 from each other. If you want something bad enough you gotta work hard thought Clive! Soon I will be on Compound Interest and I will be running the show. They will see!!
I'm glad this discussion is popping up everywhere. I haven't had a reason to consider witnesses, or governance since The Forkening. I was surprised to see how varied my choices were, and spent a few minutes adjusting my support, as we all should. Personally, I'm in favor of a higher HBD return, for reasons I've touched on elsewhere, but are far better explained by taskmaster4450, but as it's been put, if I want more say in it I should power up more hive, so as far as I can tell, the system is working. Hallelujah & shit.
🤣🤣 Ah it's good to have an aul think about what witness to support I suppose. The HBD interest price at 20% could lead to trouble down the line but I'm not an economist so what do I know.
I really your love your stories 😂😂
Thanks man . 😃😃
