The world's jewel in the city of Takengon // A city in a mountain valley with a million charms

On February 23, 2025, precisely last Sunday, I managed to make a very extraordinary trip because this trip managed to take me to a city that is often referred to as a cold city or tourist city, namely Takengon city. Actually there was no intention or purpose to visit this Takengon city, because on that day I and a friend only went around the city of Bireuen, but suddenly my friend made a statement to travel to the city of Takengon, initially I didn't want to because the trip to the city of Takengon was very far, moreover the route that had to be taken was very extreme but considering it was still morning of course that was not a reason for time.

So without thinking twice we immediately made a trip to Takengon city, but of course this was a very sudden trip or surprise visit, with very minimal supplies or equipment, but fortunately the weather at that time was very bright so I did not hesitate to make this trip. The main reason I wanted to travel to Takengon city was because I also wanted to enjoy the atmosphere around the Tawar sea which has extraordinary natural beauty, plus Takengon city is the coldest city in Aceh province so this trip is a challenge in itself.

Although this was a sudden trip, I still tried to capture every beauty that accompanied me on this trip, there were so many beautiful places that I managed to pass through so there were also many photos that I could capture. Approximately 4 hours of travel, we finally arrived in the city of Takengon.I have visited the city of Takengon several times, to be precise the last time I visited this city was about 3 months ago, so when we arrived in the city of Takengon we chose to visit several places that we had never visited before, one of which was to take a trip around the Tawar Sea.

So our decision to go around the Freshwater Sea was final, so we immediately chose another route, which of course was a route we had never taken before, until we arrived at a bridge that crossed a river.

At first glance, this bridge looks like a bridge in general, there is nothing unique or beautiful, but it is different from the scenery around this bridge, a beautiful view that of course I have never seen before, so I decided to stop right in the middle of this bridge to capture the beauty of the scenery around the bridge.

This is a river whose water comes directly from the Tawar sea, so it produces very clear and blue water. Honestly, I have never seen a view as beautiful as this before, even in the city of Takengon itself, except for tourist attractions that have been decorated as beautifully as possible. However, look at this view, Of course this is a natural view that has no human intervention at all, except for the buildings around this river.

Not only the beauty of the river is visible, the towering mountains are also clearly visible behind this sea, which seems to surround this sea. "Of course this is a truly extraordinary view". Under the hot sun I didn't really care because my eyes kept focusing on this view.

However, I couldn't stay long because I stopped right at the edge of the middle of this bridge, I was afraid of disrupting the traffic flow on the road, so after feeling satisfied enjoying the beautiful scenery, I decided to continue this journey to go around Tawar Sea.

I thought the road or access to get around Tawar Sea was easy, but it turned out to be very difficult, because the road was very unpredictable because there were many steep and downhill roads and very sharp bends, so of course I had to ride the motorbike very carefully.

And just as I was passing the uphill road, suddenly I saw a very beautiful view from above.

What kind of scenery is this?, I feel like I'm not in Aceh, this looks like a view in foreign countries like Switzerland which is also famous for its amazing natural beauty and has many interesting tourist attractions. Of course if it weren't for my initial plan to go around Tawar Sea, I might not have been able to see this beautiful scenery, luckily

What is visible from the view is the beauty of the tawar sea, the beauty of the towering mountains, and the beauty of the houses of the residents who are right next to the tawar Sea. My location is indeed above my height, so I can freely see this beautiful view from above.

I continued my journey after capturing some of the beauty of the place.

Even the roads around Tawar sea also look very different from other roads in general, the road here has its own scenery as we can see the beauty of the pine trees that grow abundantly on the side of the road and the very fresh air continues to accompany this journey.

And I stopped again at a bend because I managed to see a view that certainly has its beauty as extraordinary.

The view that I managed to see was a beautiful view of the tawar sea and the high mountains behind it.

Luckily, during my visit this time the weather was very hot so I could see this view very clearly, unlike when it is cloudy, this beautiful view would definitely be covered by thick fog.

look at the beauty of this sea accompanied by the high mountains behind it, of course I can only witness a view like this when I visit the city of Takengon, it is true that this city is the same as its nickname, namely a cold city or tourist city.

But the journey to go around this sea is very long, and according to the information I got from some residents here, it takes almost 2 hours to go around this sea. So I don't want to waste time in vain, so after I captured some of the beauty of this place, I immediately continued this journey.

And after capturing the beauty of several views on this trip, I didn't stop again and remained focused on continuing this trip so that it would finish quickly, but I still tried to take pictures of several of the beauty of the place from the motorbike.
