Thiksey Monastery, Leh .

Hello Hive Community.

I hope you all are fine. I am also fine here. My post today is based on a religious place. The place that I have presented to you in today's post is Thiksey Monastery in Leh. Many mythological stories are associated with it. Today I will take you to visit Thiksey Monastery up close. If you look at my photographs, you will feel like you are writing about a visit to Thiksey Monastery. I am writing a post here after about five months today. These five months were very difficult months of my life but the difficult time is gone. I am really happy to write a post with you today. I missed the hive community a lot during this time. Due to circumstances, my first post after five months is in my most favorite community, #worldmappin.

Thiksey Monastery is a beautiful monastery located about 19 kilometers away from Leh. It is also very easy to reach here from Leh. It can be reached from Leh by road in about 20-30 minutes by taxi. Leh is well connected by air to major cities of India like Delhi, Srinagar and Jammu. So once you reach Leh you can hire local transport to reach the monastery. Thiksey Monastery is surrounded by beautiful mountains on all sides. And another special feature of this monastery is that it is located on the top of a mountain. Due to which one can stand on this monastery and admire the beautiful natural beauty.

As I told you earlier, Thiksey Monastery is located on the top of a hill. So the road to reach this monastery is winding and narrow. On the way to Thiksey Monastery, there are 2 beautiful gates which describe the beauty of this Thiksey Monastery. As soon as you enter this monastery, you will see the colorful walls of this monastery. In the second photograph above, you can see the small and beautiful courtyard of the monastery. The walls on all sides of which are painted in red and yellow. Thiksey Monastery is a multi-storey complex. This monastery has many buildings, prayer halls and rooms spread out on the top of the hill. I will slowly take you through all the rooms.

Each of the photographs above describes the beauty of Thiksey Monastery. Thiksey Monastery is presented to you here through photographs from different angles. The design of this monastery from the outside reflects traditional Tibetan Buddhist architecture. In which you will see beautiful carvings, colorful murals and statues of important Buddhist figures. And in the main temple known as "Dukhang" there is a huge statue of Maitreya Buddha. This statue is about 15 meters high. It is one of the most attractive features of the monastery.

This monastery has many temples, photographs of which I will present to you here. Along with this, there are prayer halls and rooms filled with Buddhist scriptures and relics. It is said that Thiksey Monastery was founded in the 16th century by Lama Sherab Zangpo, a disciple of the great Tibetan scholar and teacher Tsongkhapa. Since then, it has grown to be one of the largest and most important monasteries in the region. In the early days, this monastery was established to promote Buddhist teachings and practice in the area.

This monastery is also known for its large and impressive prayer wheels. In the photograph above, I have also presented that huge prayer wheel to you. This prayer wheel is turned by devotees themselves to accumulate spiritual merit. The monastery is divided into several levels. In which the lower floor has rooms for monks and small temples. The upper floor has the main prayer hall and large Buddha statues. I am going to present the photographs of these Buddha statues to you. Apart from that, in this monastery you will also find various kalashes which represent Buddhism. Which I have presented to you through photographs above. Which is located at the top of the monastery. Which can be seen from a distance.

Thiksey Monastery is still an active monastery. And more than 100 monks live in this monastery. Along with this, they study Buddhism diligently. Every monk living here follows a strict routine. Which includes daily prayer, meditation and study of Buddhist philosophy and scriptures. Along with this, these monks also participate in various social activities. Which also includes organizing festivals and teaching the younger generation about Buddhist practices.

Talking about festivals above, then I will also talk about some festivals celebrated by Buddhism. One of the main festivals held in Thiksey Math is the Thiksey Gustar Festival. I was informed about this by a local man who lives here. It is held every year in the month of October or November. During this festival, you can see traditional dances, rituals and prayers performed by the monks and the locals. And the interesting thing is that this festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm. Many tourists and devotees come from different parts of India and abroad to participate in it.

If I give you my opinion, Thiksi Monastery is a beautiful and peaceful place in Leh. Where visitors can learn a lot about Tibetan Buddhism. Along with this, tourists who come here can admire the wonderful architecture of this monastery and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Ladakhi landscape. This monastery is an essential part of the cultural and spiritual landscape of this area, its rich history, lively festivals and serene atmosphere make it an essential part of the cultural and spiritual landscape of the region. I have learned a lot about Buddhism by visiting this monastery. And I hope that you have also come to understand a lot about this sect through my post.

today's post I shared a lot of information about Thiksey Monastery which is located in Leh . I hope you liked my post and this Beautiful place.
