Fair: A colorful and traditional festival of Bengalis......
Fairs, fairs, fairs....Winter has arrived in Bangladesh and the thing that attracts the most attention this winter is the fairs, the winter fairs....There are many types of fairs in Bangladesh such as Baisakhi fair, Paush fair, book fair, etc.A fair is a gathering of many people at a particular place for social, religious, commercial or other reasons.

It is where various types of goods are exhibited, bought and sold. And there are entertainment facilities, such as - processions, circus, puppet dance, Nagardola etc. However, processions, circus, puppet dance are almost extinct now...Although there are processions at some village fairs, they are not as crowded as before.....Although I have not seen Jatrapala myself, I have heard about it from my father and uncles....

The fair was originally an economic event, a large multi-day market. Although there was not much to see in the past, the fair was organized in a way that was in keeping with the present times.
A winter clothing fair for rural young entrepreneurs is being held on the other side of the Padma in Phultala, sakopara eidgah field, Rajshahi... The fair has just started, so although there are not many winter clothes here, many types of shops have arrived, from shops selling all kinds of daily necessities to casual shops....

There are shops selling things made of gypsum, shops selling Panipuri, shops selling clothes, jewelry, and food... The fair is usually crowded from evening onwards. My semester is going on, so I visited the fair in the afternoon after finishing my exams...
Fairs are our tradition. Basically, a fair is a temporary festive market where people come together to enjoy shopping, entertainment, and socializing.

There are usually stalls selling clothes, food, toys, handicrafts and various household products here, which create good income opportunities for local traders. Therefore, all entrepreneurs, from small to large, who understand the place, want to promote and expand their businesses through stalls.
The atmosphere of this fair in Phultala was also very colorful and lively, with entertainment like Nagardola and train rides making it attractive for everyone from children to adults.
To me, a fair is not just a place to shop, it's a cultural gathering, where people spend time together, enjoy local traditions, and have a festive, albeit temporary, experience. And the most important thing is that the fair is a tradition that has been going on for ages, and it is my duty to visit the fair at least once to applaud the efforts to preserve this tradition!
