Parc des Chutes (Falls Park), Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec, Canada (8 pics)

Located in the heart of the town of Rivière-du-Loup, the Falls Park is an example to follow in promoting biodiversity in an urban environment.

No matter where we come from, the 33 meter waterfall welcomes us and two pedestrian footbridges allow us to observe it well.

One that gives us a close up view from the top, the other allows us to feel its strength when we see it from below.

This waterfall is not only pretty, but not so long ago, it made the city of Rivière-du-Loup one of the first to generate electricity thanks to it.

Those who can will take the path that passes at the top of this hill to see the waterfall a little closer.

As I was with a stroller, I opted for a slightly easier path.

Several trails are at our disposal and its fairly easy to navigate.

We have the chance to pass through swamps, rivers and dense forests that know how to charm us.

A large part of the trail runs along the lake, which allows us to admire the beautiful landscape and see some birds and fishes along the way.

A nice little walk of around 10 km if you do all the trails like me.

I like being in nature, living in a big city, I don't get the chance to see this kind of place every day, so I take advantage of it whenever I can.

At one point, we come across a beautiful orchard which was established in 1930.

Initially, it belonged to an individual, but since 1984, the city has inherited it and it has become a perfect place to have a nice picnic and taste some good apples.
