Old Square: a place to enjoy the outdoors [eng/spa]

Another spectacular place in Havana for sightseeing, and one that I always recommend, is the Old Square. It is located in the heart of Old Havana, and the elders say that at one time it was called New Square.
This is a place of passage and concurrence for all visitors, because it is surrounded by buildings with an impressive architecture.

Otro de los espacios espectaculares que tiene La Habana para hacer turismo, y que siempre recomiendo, es la Plaza Vieja. La misma está ubicada en el corazón de La Habana Vieja, y cuentan los más ancianos que en algún momento se le llamó la Plaza Nueva.
Este es un sitio de paso y concurrencia para todos los visitantes, porque está rodeada de edificaciones con una arquitectura impresionante.

One of the elements that I like the most about this square is that it has a map that offers a very illustrative spatial location to the visitor and mentions the most important tourist places that are nearby.
Among the places that stand out in the square is the Camera Obscura, which if you go to the top of the building you can see through a periscope the restoration work.

Uno de los elementos que más me gustan de esta plaza es que cuenta con un mapa que ofrece una ubicación espacial muy ilustrativa al visitante y menciona los lugares turísticos de mayor relevancia que quedan cercanos.
Entre las lugares que destacan en la plaza está la Cámara Oscura, que si se accede a lo más alto del edificio se puede apreciar por un periscopio los trabajos de restauración.

Another place that I consider a must visit is the Planetarium. Many years ago, at the time of its inauguration, I was one of the first people to enjoy that experience, and I can assure you that it has been marked in my mind. The visitor can enjoy there a tour of the Cosmos that feels very real.

Otro de los lugares que considero, es una visita obligatoria es el Planetario. Hace muchos años, en el momento de su inauguración, fui de las primeras personas en disfrutar de esa experiencia, y puedo asegurar que ha quedado marcada en mi mente. El visitante puede disfrutar allí de un recorrido por el Cosmos que se siente muy real.

The square is surrounded by other buildings, some of them gastronomic, which have an incredible architecture. In its center stands out a fountain, which besides being a symbol of that place, is a very nice to look at because many pigeons are constantly landing there.

La plaza está rodeada de otras edificaciones, algunas de ellas gastronómicas, que tienen una arquitectura increíble. En su centro se destaca una fuente, que además de ser un símbolo de ese lugar, es un muy bonito mirarla porque constantemente se posan muchísimas palomas.

Among its most striking artistic works is the sculpture of the prestigious Cuban artist Roberto Fabelo, which represents a naked woman on top of a rooster. Also on display, on the occasion of the Havana Biennial, is the immense work Wooden Cloud, which has become an icon of the square because visitors leave written memories of their visit on it.

Entre sus obras artísticas más llamativas está la escultura del prestigioso artista cubano Roberto Fabelo, que representa una mujer desnuda encima de un gallo. También se expone, con motivo de la celebración de la Bienal de La Habana, la inmensa obra Nube de Madera, la cual se ha convertido en un ícono de la plaza porque el visitante deja plasmado en ella, por escrito, algún recuerdo de su visita.
