The Titisee and the Schluchsee are in the Upper Black Forest. Since we always look for lakes to go swimming in the summer with our motorhome, we chose Schluchsee to spend a day or two there.

To be honest, I didn't know it at all before and was very surprised by what this lake has to offer.
Just a few kilometres away from Titisee, this reservoir is very idyllic and quiet, almost lonely in the Black Forest.
What impressed me very much was the fact that there are almost no large hotel bunkers there, and everything still seems relatively undeveloped. Almost too lonely.

Schluchsee is a reservoir and Germany's largest energy store.

We found a campsite on the lake near the village of Schluchsee. Just a few metres down the footpath, we were right on the water.

As we always have our bikes with us, we cycled around the lake to see it from all sides. And lo and behold, you can actually cycle completely around it on a cycle path. Not all lakes can do that.

Just a few minutes after our start, an old train came towards us, probably more used for tourist activities.

At Schluchsee station we found this map. According to this map, it was no problem to go around it once.

But before such a ride, a little refreshment in the village was of course mandatory.

It's a beautiful village, well kept and could probably accommodate a lot of tourists. We were actually there in high season, but it was still relatively quiet. There was not really much sign of mass tourism.

A few kilometres further along the cycle path, we passed this small house with an inn. Since we had just taken a break, we didn't stop there.

At the south-eastern end of the lake you cross the reservoir.

There is also a small beer garden. From this beer garden, you can take a small path directly to the lower basin of the reservoir. But there's another post from me about that.

We continued along the cycle path.

Luckily for us, the path was full of raspberries and blueberries. This slowed us down a bit, but gave us plenty of vitamins.

Here, too, we have to deal with all kinds of rubbish, which many tourists seem to throw carelessly into the forest. In fact, there wasn't as much as in the city, but we still found a lot of small stuff.

I can recommend it to everyone if you go there on holiday. Very clean and beautiful.

Then we continued on the cycle path.

Im Hochschwarzwald liegt der Titisee und der Schluchsee. Da wir uns mit dem Wohnmobil im Sommer immer nach Seen richten, um auch etwas Baden zu gehen, haben wir uns den Schluchsee ausgesucht um dort ein oder zwei Tage zu verbringen.

Ich kannte ihn ehrlichgesagt vorher gar nicht, und war sehr überrascht, was dieser See zu bieten hat.
Gleich ein paar Kilometer vom Titisee entfernt, liegt dieser Stausee sehr idyllisch und ruhig fast schon einsam im Schwarzwald.
Was mich sehr beeindruckt hat, ist die Tatsache, dass dort so gut wie keine großen Hotelbunker sind, und alles scheint noch relativ unbebaut zu sein. Fast schon zu einsam.

Der Schluchsee ist ein Stausee und der größte Energiespeicher Deutschlands.

Wir fanden einen Campingplatz am See nähe des Dorfes Schluchsee. Nur ein paar Meter den Fußweg bergab war man schon direkt am Wasser.

Da wir immer die Räder dabei haben, sind wir einmal um den See gefahren um ihn von allen Seiten anzusehen. Und siehe da, man kann ihn tatsächlich komplett mit dem Rad auf einem Radweg umfahren. Das schaffen nicht alle Seen.

Gleich ein paar Minuten nach unserem Start kam uns ein alter Zug entgegen, der wohl eher für touristische Aktivitäten genutzt wird.

Am Bahnhof Schluchsee fanden wir diese Karte. Laut diesem Plan war es kein Problem ihn einmal um umfahren.

Aber vor so einer Fahrt, war natürlich eine kleine Stärkung im Dorf Pflicht.

Es ist ein schönes Dorf, gut hergerichtet und könnte wohl eine Menge an Touristen aufnehmen. Wir waren eigentlich zur Hochsaison dort, aber trotzdem war es relativ ruhig. Von Massentourismus war nicht wirklich viel zu spüren.

Ein paar Kilometer weiter auf dem Radweg kamen wir an diesem kleinen Haus mit Wirtschaft vorbei. Da wir gerade schon Pause gemacht haben, sind wir dort nicht eingekehrt.

Am Süd-östlichen Ende des Sees überquert man den Stausee.

Dort ist auch ein kleiner Biergarten. Von diesem Biergarten kann man direkt einen kleinen Weg nehmen, um ans untere Becken des Stausees zu kommen. Da gibt es aber wieder einen eigenen Post von mir.

Wir sind weiter den Radweg entlang.

Zu unserem Glück, war der Weg voll mit Himbeeren und Blaubeeren. Das hat uns zwar etwas aufgehalten, dafür aber jede Menge Vitamine beschert.

Auch hier kämpft man mit allerlei Müll, welchen viele Touristen wohl achtlos einfach in den Wald schmeißen. Tatsächlich war es nicht so viel wie in der Stadt aber trotzdem fanden wir viel Kleinzeug.

Wir sind dann auf der Hälfte unseres Weges an dieser Alm eingekehrt.

Sehr schön gelegen an einem Hang mit Blick auf den Schluchsee.
Ich kann ihn jedem Empfehlen, wenn man dort Urlaub macht. Sehr sauber und wunderschön.

Danach ging es auf dem Radweg weiter.

Hier ist der Zufluss des Sees.

Und natürlich gibt es auch einen privaten Segelklub.
