Exploring and Seeing Lhokseumawe City at a Glance // an unforgettable experience

Aceh is one of the provinces in Indonesia and Lhokseumawe is one of the cities in Aceh Province. Lhokseumawe is a division of North Aceh Regency and is located on the east coast of Sumatra Island.

Hello friends, I'm back in this beloved community to share some images. This time, I'll be sharing some of the images I captured in Lhokseumawe, one of the five cities in Aceh Province.

I briefly passed through this city while traveling to East Aceh to attend a friend's wedding. Coincidentally, we were passing through Lhokseumawe, so I decided to take a moment to capture some images.

Well...
I'll share some of these images on this blog. So, please continue to follow my blog to see some of the images I captured in Lhokseumawe, along with short posts from me.

Lhokseumawe is a city in Aceh province, located on the east coast between Banda Aceh and Medan.

Known as a gas-producing city in Aceh Province, gas mining in Lhokseumawe began when Pertamina partnered with Mobil Oil to survey oil resources after Indonesian independence.

My friends...
These are some pictures I took when I first entered the city, which was once nicknamed Petro Dollar City.
This was due to the glory of PT Arun, which was the world's largest oil source at the time.

In the pictures I've shared above, you can see the atmosphere of the city at a glance. My first impression upon entering the city was a very calming atmosphere, far from the hustle and bustle of most cities in Aceh. You can also see the Welcome Monument located beside the road upon first entering the city, which is colored green.

This monument is an icon of the city. It was formerly the Rencong Monument, but is now the Samawi Coin Monument. It is located in Kuta Blang Village, Banda Sakti District, Lhokseumawe City.

My friend...
The Rencong is one of the traditional weapons of the Acehnese people. This weapon was used to repel invaders during World War II.

Previously, a Rencong was placed on top of the monument, symbolizing the prowess of the Acehnese people in defending their homeland. However, after renovations several years ago, the Rencong was converted into a coin. The monument has now been replaced with the Samawi Coin at a cost of IDR 95.2 million from the Lhokseumawe City Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Department, according to information I've seen in several local media articles.

My friend...
Just so you know, from historical literature, the Samawi coin was introduced by Sultan Muhammad Syah of the Aceh Darussalam Kingdom in 1975. This coin signifies one of the largest ports of that era, called Teluk Samawi. As I mentioned in previous blogs, my region, Aceh, was a kingdom before the end of World War II. After the war, we became a nation and joined the Republic of Indonesia.

This city presents so many monuments that have very interesting architecture in my personal opinion and among them is the clock monument which I shared a picture of above, apart from that there are also many other monuments that I found in Lhokseumawe City.

And for me personally, this city has a very beautiful face with neatly arranged buildings.

Furthermore, in Lhokseumawe, if you want to visit, it's very easy to find mosques with magnificent and beautiful architecture. This is because my province is predominantly Muslim, reaching over 95%, so the places of worship that are often found are magnificent mosques. The same is true in Lhokseumawe. Here are some images I captured, including one of the mosques in Lhokseumawe.

For me personally, being able to see and enjoy a glimpse of the city on this trip was a very valuable experience and I really like this city because it has a city layout with neat buildings, besides that I also like the weather in this city which is very sunny and even the pollution is very low, even though this city which was once nicknamed Petro Dollar was once a city in which there was PT.Arun which was a limited company that managed natural gas resources which was once on the list of the largest in the world at that time.

Okay, friends, those are some pictures and a short post from me on this blog. I hope you all enjoyed and were entertained by what I shared about the city of Lhokseumawe.
And I personally would like to express my deepest gratitude to all of you who have taken the time to stop by and read my blog to the end. Your support, comments, and input are invaluable to me in creating a better blog in the future.

That's all for now.
Greetings, everyone.
See you in my next blog.
