“Unforgettable Family Moments by the Lake Marugo”

The lead picture was edited by Canva.

This was when I visited my cousin in the Visayas part in the Philippines, we went to a lake together. We booked a small cottage and just enjoyed being there. It felt so nice and peaceful spending time with family. My cousin riding boats moving on the water, and that time we have to go with the boat to get to the cottage. From the cottage, I saw houses and trees around the lake. It looked simple but made me happy. These pictures remind me of the fun times, full of laughter and joy I’ll never forget.” According of my research. The water in this lake comes from the mountains of Tapaz. The lake has no river that goes in or out. Farmers use the water for their fields. It is about two hours from Roxas City. Marugo Lake is in Brgy. San Antonio, Tapaz, Capiz. It’s not beside the highway. When you reach Brgy San Julian, there’s a signage on both sides of the road pointing to turn left to Marugo Lake 2.5 kms away.

Marugo is considered the summer capital of the Municipality. It has become popular that people not only outside the municipality but also from outside the province have heard and come to this place. It has a swimming pool which charges P80 for children and P100 for adults. It also has 4 air-conditioned rooms with terrace overlooking the lake. Each terrace has a small round table with two chairs. I imagine watching the lake covered with fog in the morning as I sip a cup of coffee in one of those terraces. Each room costs P2,500.00 per day for 4 people. They allow up to 6 people to occupy a room with extra payment of 200 each for the two persons. If you don’t wish to experience the morning in the terrace in one of those rooms, you may opt for activities like kayaking and boating both at P50 per hour, jet ski, and fishing. If you’re not a fan of these activities, you may rent a floating cottage which accommodates a maximum of 15 persons for P700. This floating cottage is pushed by a motorized boat to the middle of the lake where you may experience the serenity of the body of water.

If you don’t like a cottage floating in the water, they have also a stationary cottage outside of the lake. A P500 cottage can accommodate 10 people and a P1000 cottage can accommodate 20 people. You may see local folks casting their net at almost the opposite end of the lake to catch a fish in this almost 18.62-hectare lake. And also can go for hiking and enjoy the nature. Now I feel very excited for my next visit to my country, I have imagine what next adventure with my relatives we can enjoy and will keep some more good moment, and I cant wait to have bonding with them again. I really miss them and the foods specially litson baboy forever number one of the filipino party event.

Anyway, How to get there in Marugo Lake? Tapaz, Capiz can be reached through bus ride from Iloilo City (Pavia Terminal), Roxas City, and Kalibo. If you are from Iloilo City: You may ride a Bus at Pavia People’s Terminal (beside Robinson’s Place Pavia) bound to Tapaz, Capiz. Fare is around Php90. If you are already in the town of Tapaz, just take a motorcycle ride to Marugo Lake. Fare is around Php50. Expenses/rates Bus Fare : Php80 Motorcycle Fare : Php30 Environmental Fee : Php10 Swimming Fee (swimming pool): Php80 Floating Cottage : Php500/day (Good for 10-15 persons)

Eternal summer. And in a month's time, only the fir trees and pines will be green. And then our whole world will turn white.

Ok, wow. I'm quite amazed. I wasn't aware that the Philippines were such a cheap country by western standards. What you have shown here is also very beautiful. It should definitely be worth a visit for many people. The Philippines seem to be a very beautiful country.
