“Tuasan Falls and Sunset Serenity: Discovering the Natural Beauty of the Camiguin Island!"
Hello everyone, this event was last 2023, this island, my cousin is staying here and one of my childhood friend also have some relatives on her father's side, since been long time I haven’t met my cousin he invited me to visit him, and some of my friends came to and we take the opportunity to explore the Camiguin Island with my friends, and it was one of the best vacations I’ve ever had. This place is just a humble island, not famous or overrated, but that’s why it's nice because it's not crowded by people, especially foreigners; most people there are locals, and it's a very peaceful place and very safe. It’s a quiet environment, clean, and full of natural beauty. We spent 2 days exploring the island, and it surprised me. The beach is so beautiful, with hot springs, green mountains, and beautiful waterfalls. Everything felt peaceful and fresh. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature.

One of my favorite places on the island was Tuasan Falls. It’s located in a town named Catarman. To get there, we drove through small villages and roads surrounded by trees. It didn’t take long, and the ride was nice and calm. And when we are reaching the waterfalls, we can already hear the sound of the waterfalls, I'm so amazed. The waterfall height is about 25 meters, so beautiful feeling to experience it. The water falling down and so cold, crystal-clear water. The area is full of trees and rocks, and feels like so relaxing place. I like the quiet moment. And just enjoying the sound of the waterfall and birds in the trees. Even the water is cold, but it's a different kind of excitement, and I don’t mind the cold water. We swim, playing in the water from the falls, we also enjoy taking photos, and sit on the rocks enjoying the fresh air. We also lay down and watched the waterfall. The place is like a secret place, far away from all the stress of daily life.
I noticed that the local people look after the place. The pathway going to the falls was well-maintained, and there was no trash everywhere we went. It made me happy to see that they are protecting this beautiful spot. After the joyful day with the waterfalls, we also experienced the sunset. Camiguin has some of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve ever seen. We just stand by the house, we stay, and we experience the beautiful sunset. According to them, we must go to places like Yumbing and Agoho on the western side of the island, so we can experience the sun going down over the ocean. The sky would turn orange, pink, and gold, and everything around us looked magical. This amazing experience just sat on the beach side, and watching the sun slowly disappear.
We brought some snacks and drinks and shared stories while watching the sunset. We just sat enjoying the view. This island is just a small island, but it has so much can offer. Like, not crowded, and Camiguin is known for the sweetest Lanzones in the Philippines. But the season is October this time, we went in June. The locals are so nice and friendly, and the food is fantastic, especially the seafood, like fish. We buy fish early in the morning from the local fishermen, and the fish is so fresh from the sea. I would say that the island is full of surprises as well, from volcanoes and hot springs to the old churches and white sand beaches. This trip was made even more memorable and special was being with my old friends. We created memories for the future to look back, they laughed, exploring and discovering new places, the swim in the fresh cold water, all this we will keep forever. And Camiguin gave me both fun and peace, a rare mix of feelings and experience. I feel I won't leave the place. if I could afford to buy a property there, I would buy for vacation house. Anyway, planning to come back to this island soon.
How to go to Camiguin Island from Manila? Just take a flight to Camiguin Island, Camiguin has its own airport, and when you're already in camiguin, it's easy to go around, just take a motor or public transport.
