🌞🧊New Fear Unlocked: MegaCryometeor 🧊🌞

Imagine taking a walk in a bright sunny day. The sky is clear and blue.

And then boom πŸ’₯🀯 A huge block of ice falls on your head out of nowhere and you are dead. Just like that.

But if there are no clouds where did that huge chunk of ice came by? How did it form?

Well, let's first say that the scenario above is highly unlikely. The closest thing I could find to that, is this case where a man's roof was crushed by big chunks of ice that mysteriously fell from the sky.

So how can large pieces of hail-like ice appear in clear sky conditions?

Well... The short answer is that we don't know πŸ™ƒ

Known as megacryometeors, these large chunks of ice are very similar to large hailstones when it comes to their composition. Since 2000 there have been over 50 cases reported, with some of them being tens of kilograms. In one case that happened in Brazil it was over 50 kg!

One theory was that they form from aircraft fuselage or leaking airplane...toilets πŸ˜‚

But the reality is that megacryometeors were a thing before the invention of...the aeroplane πŸ˜…

Sometimes they are also confused with good ol meteors since they leave a crater after their impact if they are big enough. However we know they form in the atmosphere and not in our space.

In other words, yet another mystery of mother nature...waiting to be solved!

Till then...Maybe get an umbrella next time you enjoy your next walk under the sun β˜€οΈ 🌞 πŸ˜›πŸ˜œ

I think we should open the realm of possibilities and think more creatively.

Space gremlins. Lunar leprechauns. An interstellar El Cuco, annoyed because we keep cluttering the universe with space junk.

Makes sense to meπŸ˜‚

I'm getting some serious Donnie Darko vibes from the guy with the hole in his ceiling. Imagine this thing travels all the way through space for thousands or millions of years just to make it to Earth to hit you in the head haha I guess hail can come down in really large chunks as well, but without a cloud in the sky I don't think it would be possible. My guess is the more recent ones likely fell off of a satellite or plane, but the earlier ones ...maybe off UFOs. Fun to think about, thanks for sharing!

It would be a surprise, and I am surprised that nobody knows how they were formed. Then again, I guess there are so many cases and people haven't seen where or when they formed.

Can an umbrella protect us from this? I don't think so XD That's pretty scary, man, that giant thing falling out of the middle of nowhere. I can't even believe that it fell in front of me when I was walking down the road. I'd probably be shocked and sit for a few minutes.

I think I heard of this story already, it must have happened not too far away here too, maybe on a car or a house, they said yea like planes

That's impressive, those ice chunks can indeed end your life in moments. They can also surprise you from a clear sky and I guess the umbrella won't make much of a difference next time πŸ˜…

then...Maybe get an umbrella next time you enjoy your next walk under the sun Even an umbrella can't withstand a 50Kg free fall ice. There are so many circumstances that can result to death and some are very mysterious. That's why it's good to be a mystery yourself.

They say there is good and bad luck, I think that our good energies are what attract this, a good attitude combined with good energy attracts the best, so when I decide to carry an umbrella I will try to buy a transparent one, well, I do NOT think it will be of any use, but at least I will see where a piece of ice like that comes from hahaha

If that thing wanged you in the head you would be six feet under! I've seen some big hail in my day but that one takes the cake. Glad to hear it wasn't full or urine and feces from a leaky toilet on an airplane! lol
