Okay so like… finally got to head down to our province last week i swear the moment we rolled into the area i could feel my shoulders just drop all that city stress just poof gone!

We left Maramag town super early ‘cause tita said the morning sun’s nicer for walking through the fields plus we had miss the crazy midday heat. First thing that hits you is the smell wet earth mixed with fresh green plants and coconut fronds from all the trees lining the paths. Kuya even pointed out how you can taste the clean air here and yeah i know that sounds weird but try it you will get what i mean!

Walking on the narrow dirt trails between the paddies had me being so clumsy haha. Kept trying not to step in the muddy water where the young rice shoots are growing in neat little rows tito was laughing saying i looked like i was doing some kind of dance. The water was so clear you could see tiny fish darting around the roots and every now and then a dragonfly would zip right past your face.

What really got me though was how quiet it is out there. No jeepney horns, no neighbors blasting music just the sound of birds chirping crickets humming and the wind rustling through the rice stalks. We sat under a big old coconut tree for a bit and tita told us stories about how lolo used to plant these fields by hand back before they had machines to help. Now they still do some parts the old way ‘cause they say the rice tastes better that way.

By the time we were heading back the sun was starting to climb high and we were all sweaty and dusty but grinning like idiots. Stopped by the roadside to grab fresh buko juice from a vendor and nothing’s ever tasted that good..

Thats all for today. Thank you and happy reading ☺️😊

President Marcos is lying when he says that he will fight corruption; he is merely wiping out his opponents. One indication that he is not genuinely concerned about corruption is that the Office of the President accepts only administrative complaints. This means that if an official is not processing your papers quickly enough, the office may intervene to speed up the process (which ultimately benefits the government). However, if you are a victim of police corruption, your complaint will not be accepted; in most cases, it is not even answered. Here is an historical background: [Philippine corruption] Pangayaw and Decolonizing Resistance Anarchism in the Philippines 4/76
