Love to Drive (Original Poetry)

Love to Drive - Original Poetry by Krisz Rokk

Living,
breathing,
squeezing the juice out of life
is all I can think of
when faced with the illusion of death.

He was kind
gentle
humble
but then he left
quickly
out of the blue
without noise
leaving us wondering
why rose petals grow.

Tender his voice
when telling jokes
laughing wholeheartedly
sharing his smile with all of us folks.
An innocent soul
inspiring us all
while passing swiftly
through this world.

A great teacher
I would recall
nudging me
to aspire for more.
Release the brakes,
learn to switch
between fast and slow,
a mind so sharp
can ignite the core.
Driving through life
should follow a flow
that runs through your veins
bypassing the ego.

Don’t be shy
spin the wheels
empty the battery
and explore the wind.
It was a great race
I could hear him
shout from across the street
leaning on his car window
excited,
totally pleased.

One day I’ll join you for another spin Mr. V.
until then, rest in peace.

What a touching poem, @kriszrokk! You take your readers on a wild ride to appreciate the essence of living to the fullest through the lens of Mr V.'s life. Every moment, no matter how flimsy, should be cherished for it will pass and never return. Your reference to the "illusion of death" makes me wonder: Is death the end? But your last stanza answers the question.

I'm sorry for your loss. Mr V was quite an influence and even in death, he inspires us (through your words) to explore, cherish and experience the exhilaration of living fully. Beautifully written. Thanks for sharing. 💕 !LADY

Sometimes life is a martyrdom and meaningless to us, but then life slaps us in the face and makes them understand how beautiful and unparalleled. Enjoy while you can.

Thanks for sharing.
Good day.
