Born to be Hated

Slowly, I drift away in my slumber,
To a land filled with magic,
A land filled with happiness for the dreamers,
Where creation happens in a blink.

Slowly again, the tyrant came
Knocking on the door of my ear, with unending music,
The happiness of a dreamer began to dime,
For the tyrant wants you sick.

With might and power, I rose to go,
Lifting my banner to end its reign
With a mighty clap, the battle ended
Where is thy power, oh great mosquito?

Born into a world without care,
Survival, a burden to bear,
Feeding was done in fear,
The world we live in comes in pairs.

What is love? emotion not felt,
I feed, they complain of health,
Why should my food complain,
Why do I alone feel the pain?

My small world is polluted with toxic gas,
Net of death lay on my way to a feast, that's not nice.
They swing their hands; my life, a fleeting pass,
Each night, I navigate through dismay.

Yet still, I rise with the moon's dim light,
In search of sustenance, I continue the fight.
A villain they name me, a curse in flight,
But I, too, seek to live, this is my plight.

Thanks for reading.

I remembered writing the first part of this poem some months ago after waking up from sleep due to Mr. Mosquito's disturbance, and I decided to share it with everyone here. After I was done, I thought about writing from Mr. Mosquito's point of view. I hope you enjoy reading this piece as much as I enjoy writing it

Thanks once again.
