Do you still write by hand? (ENG/SPA)
Hello, Internet folks, I heard about this initiative from my sister @mairene1, so I wanted to participate since it's a topic that matters to me. The question is: When was the last time you wrote by hand?
Hola, gente de Internet, supe de esta iniciativa de parte de mi hermana @mairene1, así que quise participar ya que es un tema que me importa. La pregunta es ¿Cuándo fue la última vez que escribiste a mano?
The truth is that it's something I do all the time. Even to write this post, I took notes by hand.
La verdad es que es algo que hago todo el tiempo, incluso para hacer este post, tomé notas a mano.
I enjoy writing by hand so much that I am always looking for attractive diaries to make my daily notes. I know that there are currently hundreds of note-taking apps and planners available, but I still prefer the old-fashioned method 😊.
Me gusta tanto escribir a mano que siempre estoy buscando agendas bonitas para hacer mis anotaciones del día, se que actualmente hay cientos de apps de anotaciones o planificadores, pero yo sigo prefiriendo el antiguo método 😊.
I usually make notes of things I need to do, buy, look for, etc., or quotes that come to mind, and I write them down to use in my books or posts.
Usualmente hago anotaciones de cosas que debo hacer, comprar, buscar, etc, o también citas que se me ocurren y las anoto para usarlas en mis libros o post.
I usually write in print; in fact, I was taught to write that way in first grade and I got used to it. At some point, I went back to the cursive I had learned before, I think when I was in middle school, and then I returned to print.
Escribo usualmente en letra de imprenta, de hecho en primer grado me enseñaron a escribir así y me acostumbré. En algún punto retomé la cursiva que había aprendido antes, creo que cuando estaba en secundaria, y tiempo después volví a la letra de imprenta.
However, when I need to write very quickly, I prefer cursive, as it's more legible when writing rapidly. Otherwise, I'm comfortable writing in print.
sin embargo cuando quiero escribir muy rápido, prefiero escribir con letra cursiva, ya que es más legible a la hora de los trazos rápidos. Del resto, me siento cómoda escribiendo con letra de imprenta.
I also have manuscripts of my books, since I wrote them when I was in high school and didn't have a laptop. So, during breaks and free time, I would write the chapters (or whatever I could manage) in a notebook, and then I would transcribe them onto my home desktop computer. Now, whenever I can, I'm working on a new book, and I have parts of it handwritten, as well as the research and ideas that led me to write this one.
También tengo manuscritos de mis libros ya que los hice cuando estaba en la secundaria y no tenía laptop, así que en los recreos y horas libres escribía los capítulos (o lo que alcanzara) en una libreta, y después los transcribía a la PC de escritorio de casa. Ahora cuando puedo estoy trabajando en un libro nuevo y tengo parte de él escrita a mano, así como las investigaciones e ideas para que he hecho este.
I also write down ideas I have for new posts. Let's just say that if I write everything on paper every day, I feel like I remember it better, and in a strange way, I even feel like it's more readily available than if I had my notes on my phone. This is probably due to the times I've run out of battery and haven't been able to charge my phone. Therefore, I feel that if this happens and my notes are on the device, it would be impossible to review them.
También escribo ideas que tengo para nuevos post, digamos que si en mi día a día escribo todo en papel, siento que lo recuerdo mejor y de una forma extraña incluso siento que está más a la mano que si tuviese mis anotaciones en el teléfono, es probable que sea debido a las veces en las que me quedé sin batería y sin posibilidad de cargar el teléfono, por lo tanto siento que si esto pasa y mis anotaciones están en el dispositivo, sería imposible revisarlo.
In short, I'm team handwriting; it has its charm and I personally find it more practical, although it does make you think about the fact that future generations may stop writing by hand unless it's to sign documents, which could eventually lead to universities or colleges ceasing to require their students to do so.
En resumen, yo soy team escribir a mano, tiene su encanto y además en lo personal se me hace más práctico aunque si es cierto que te deja pensando el hecho de que las generaciones futuras puede que dejen de escribir a mano a meno, a menos que sea para firmar, lo cuál podría conducir a que eventualmente las universidad o colegios dejen de exigir a sus estudiantes que lo hagan.
