This is my post for #freewriters 2951 prompt a dreaded report hosted by @mariannewest

We did not fish today. I told my husband that I was going with my sister to spend the twenty dollars we made yesterday. We went Christmas shopping, and I spent a lot more than twenty dollars. The old saying goes, It is easier to ask forgiveness than it is to get permission. Today is our anniversary, so I will tell him what I spent tomorrow. We have been married 40 years today, and he should be used to me spending a lot at Christmas.

My husband loves duck, so a couple of weeks ago I bought one and put it in my sister's freezer. She brought it over yesterday so I could cook it today. When I came home from shopping, my husband said "did you see the shrimp in the refrigerator?" I said no. He told me that yesterday, when he saw the duck, he knew it was a special day, and today he went looking for lobster for me. The fish markets were closed, and the lobster tails at the stores were small and expensive, so he bought shrimp. I would rather have shrimp over lobster.

I do have a dreaded report to tell you about. I am not sure what has happened to people, but some people do not care if someone needs help. I was waiting in the truck to use the ATM, the man using it was finished, and as he turned to walk away, an elderly lady tripped on the curb right beside him. I was across the parking lot and saw him look down at her and walk on, pretending he did not see her. I yelled, " are you ok?" as I hurried toward her. The man must have had a little guilt creep up on him, because when I yelled that, he turned and went back to help her get up. She was lucky she was not hurt bad, she took a hard fall.

Congratulations on your 40th marriage anniversary and I pray for good health and many more years of celebrations to come.

Well, most people these days are becoming less humane, individualistic and less concerned about the welfare of others. Thank God you were there to help. Your yelling brought his senses back.

Thank you for the anniversary wishes.

That was the first time I witnessed something like that. I am still stunned, if I had not of yelled, the man would have driven off. He was by his car, hand on the door, when guilt hit him.
