A barely skilled chef attempted to cook a five-course meal and failed miserably. His name is John. He was hired to learn from a chef who had been with the company for over a decade, but he felt he did not need to learn from such an experienced chef. He felt smarter, younger, and more alive. He avoids tips and also doesn't stand to watch others as they work, especially Mr. Owen, the head chef.

One day, his supervisor asked him to let Mr. Owen know that a special guest would be arriving and that he needed to prepare a five- meal course. He lied to Mr. Owen that the boss had requested him to take a day off because he thought he could handle it all by himself.

He was dismissed that same day as a result of that incident.
