Words From a True Friend - ZAPFIC50 MONDAY (Week of 8/25/25) | Prompt: squeeze (apretar)

ZapFic50Mondays-Logo.png

It's ZAPFIC50 Monday. This challenge by @felt-buzz. presented the opportunity to examine the prompt "squeeze". This verb conjures up an activity in our thoughts that evokes pain, anxiety, or pressure on a person's body. But the meaning can also be applied to a situation that person is involved in.

Often, I've heard of individuals applying pressure to another in an attempt to elicit some type of benefit from them that isn't in the other person's favor. The bottom line is that the individuals is hesitant to take action or wouldn't have taken the action were it not for the pressure applied to them. I share a story along those lines.

My story is below:

"I can't stand the sight of it. Geez, for the tenth time squeeze it!," friend Toshia shouted.

Albert hesitated, remembering his doctor's instructions with her in attendance.

Lips pressed tight, he left.

Later, staring at her text for a long moment, with remorseful fingers, he finally pressed the block button.

A continuación mi historia.

Palabras de un verdadero amigo

«No puedo soportar verlo.

Short but I can still feel Albert’s struggle and the weight of his decision in just your few lines. You're good at this, long or short

I'm pleased you like my writing, either flash fiction such as the ZAPFICs or short story. Have you attempted the ZAPFIC either 240 characters or exactly 50 words? It's fun and intense trying to compile a complete thought with those lengths.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I appreciate it. Take care.
