In a recent conversation with bosses, I have shared on my work struggles and how things are going with my working relationship with my fellow colleagues. When I thought it could have been an avenue where I was able to get a listening ear or some insights I was really wrong right from the start.

After pouring out what I had, only third words came back to me, "I can't relate". While I thought my boss did went through stages of being an engineer and could understand how difficult things can be with the changing landscape at work, it seemed like my boss have fully disengaged with what is going on at working level and assumed everything is actually very rosy.

And when I asked around others in other department, the sentiments seem to be the same. Looks like the way we are promoting people to management level is not as straightforward or appropriate as I thought it will be as they are unfeeling and not willing to listen.
