In the workplace, connections and bridging work is often involved to ensure that we link up important people, bring stakeholders together and establish the necessary communications to ensure a smooth execution to a project. And this is an important skill set that many are lacking and also due to the lack of a viable social circle whom one can tap resource from.

When we link others up, it is important to link the right people to the right task as well. Otherwise, we are effectively a bridge to nowhere or just a silo that is disconnected. This will become worrying because people will just abandon going things through you and render you ineffective. To overcome this, start networking and knowing more people, know what they do and also see how you can add value to their work and them adding value to yours. It is not a simple task and requires proper maintain of relationship. Start now before everyone else go ahead of you.
