First Rubber Factory in Aceh Inaugurated |
His Excellency the Wali Nanggroe Aceh Tgk Malik Mahmud Al Haythar attended the inauguration of the PT Potensi Bumi Sakti crumb rubber factory in Glee Siblah Village, Woyla District, West Aceh, Indonesia, Tuesday, July 8, 2025.
The inauguration was carried out symbolically together with the President Director of Arsari Group Hashim Sujono Djojohadikusumo PYM Wali Nanggroe and the Governor of Aceh H. Muzakir Manaf.
Also present were the Deputy Governor of Aceh Fadhlullah, the Chairman of the DPRA Zulfadhli, the Commander of the Iskandar Muda Military Command Major General TNI Niko Fahrizal, the Aceh Police Chief Inspector General Achmad Kartiko, the Head of the Aceh High Prosecutor's Office Yudi Triadi, the Head of Aceh Intelligence Agency, the Head of the Wali Abdullah Hasbullah, the Special Staff of the Wali Dr. Muhammad Raviq and a number of other officials and community figures.
Head of Cooperation and Public Relations of Wali Nanggroe, Zulfikar Idris stated, on that occasion, Wali Nanggroe expressed appreciation for the construction of this factory because it will encourage Aceh's economic growth and open up job opportunities for the community. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government, community, and private sector in managing Aceh's natural resource potential sustainably.
"The presence of this factory is an important step in supporting the welfare of the Acehnese people, especially rubber farmers, so that they have added value and better market access," said Wali Nanggroe.
President Director of Arsari Group, Hashim Sujono Djojohadikusumo, explained that the factory uses high-capacity machines with a production target of 2,500 tons of dry rubber per month. With an installed machine capacity of 5 tons of dry rubber per hour or 10 tons of wet rubber per hour, this factory will process up to 100 tons of dry rubber per day or around 30,000 tons per year.
"Later it will produce 2,500 tons of dry rubber every month. If the raw materials are sufficient, we will expand the second line, and the results can double," said Hashim.
The factory, which stands on 25 hectares of land, is expected to strengthen the downstream rubber industry in Aceh and become a new economic locomotive in West Aceh, in line with the vision of Wali Nanggroe in advancing Aceh's economic independence through strengthening the industrial sector based on regional potential.
Hashim also revealed that he had talked with Wali Nanggroe regarding efforts to strengthen the agricultural sector in Aceh. According to him, Wali Nanggroe has a vision for Aceh to have a rice processing factory so that Acehnese farmers' produce no longer has to be processed in other provinces.
"I had a chance to talk with Wali Nanggroe, and our vision is the same. Wali Nanggroe wants a rice processing factory to be established in Aceh, so that the produce from Acehnese farmers is not processed in neighboring provinces. God willing, in the future we will try to build a rice factory in Aceh, and I will try to realize Pak Wali's ideals," said Hashim.[]
