Plink the Plonk (Ding!) by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
Took a brisk drive thru the slush and freezing rain this morning to drop my wife off at work. First time I've left the house in a few days. Strange seeing the world covered in snow and ice. (The Pacific Northwest only rarely gets snow that stays for more than a few hours...)
Feeling very LOW motivation lately. Too many pills, I would argue. (Have to ask the doctor if I can cut back...) Still, I have been drawing compulsively for the last few weeks, but I'm not photographing or sharing most of it... (Makes you wonder, considering what I DO share, how bad the rest is, doesn't it! Ha!)
Mariah wonders if I'm in an input phase, but I don't know. I haven't really been inputting much, other than ghost shows on YoooTooobs. What a'ya gonna do? Perhaps I need some kind of NEW SPARK. Meanwhile, I'll keep on going... Gotta keep the troops entertained!

"Dangerous Action" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Liner pen on notebook page with digital embellishments and color.] Adventure... Excitement... A Holy Fool craves not these things... Be careful what you wish for! (Cuz you just might get it!) ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

Monday, but it feels like a Sunday! (Crazy!) Snow on the ground. Low of 14 degree f tonight! (That's pretty cold.) I wonder if Frankie's school will be cancelled tomorrow... (She's a teaching aid at a grade school.) Mariah will undoubtedly have to work. She sells glasses, and there's no way that people can be expected to wait until the snow is gone to get new sunglasses, right?
I'm wearing a yellow shirt at the moment. For some of you, that might seem like an uninteresting detail to mention, but for those who know...
Sure, sure... Let's go ahead and share some artz...

"Blaaarg" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Liner pen and felt pen on notebook page with digital embellishments and color.] "BLAAARG!" says the frustrated artist! And you can quote me on that!!! ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
P.S. - Have you ever listened to the British punk band, the Subhumans? They were great! Seriously fun!

"Stop in the Name of Love" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Digital drawing created with a no-longer-supported, free app on my phone.] The text is from an old tune, of course, and I'm not sure why it popped in my head while creating this drawing, but it did... So, the mystery starts there... What possible, unconscious connection could these colors or figures or tone have to do with an Supremes song??? Psycho-sleuths GO!!! ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

"15 Jan. 2024" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Typing in Notepad, screenshotted, then digitally manipulated and colored in MS Paint.] As I mentioned in the text of this piece, I had intended on posting this to Typed.art, but the site has been inaccessible to me today. In the OLD DAYS, like when MP3.com or MySpace went down, you were just out of luck. Sorry! But, because Typed.art pieces are on-chain, you can still SEE the pieces I've created through that platform, even if the front-end never comes back up! I guess that's pretty neat... Maybe? Yeah. I'm pretty sure it's cool... ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[I WANTED to post this to Typed.art, but it wasn't working today!]:
Hey folks! I've recently written one of those "Who is Richard F. Yates" posts and stuck it to my Patreon page! You can give that a read for free, if you find that kind of thing interesting!

Meanwhile, I'm still trying to recouperate from the holidays... It's all snowy outside, which is very strange here in the Pacific Northwest. We get a lot of RAIN, but we don't get much of the frozen stuff! (I'm a grandpa, so it's okay for me to talk about the weather, by the way.) In the meantime, I'm still drawing and filling up journals and I've EVEN started a new ZINE! (I got a cover created, but not much inbetween the pages, yet...)
Recently, I attempted an experiment, recording a pirate radio show and posting it to Objkt. Because it's an audio collage using other people's sound creations, I'm not going to SELL that one. It's more for the FUN of making weird noises and sharing good vibes. I'm not sure what most people thought of that one, but I enjoyed it (and I've received an "offer" on it - though I refuse to make money from other people's stuff - and it was even "curated" by another artist for one of his lists, so that's pretty cool.) I'm probably going to make another one pretty soon, cuz I love sharing my favorites with the universe!!!
Day after day... Alone on a hill... The man with the foolish grin is keeping perfectly still...
The world is still spinning. That's good! Hopefully, you're going out of your way to try to have a good time! Have a laugh on me!
Later!

[Gel pen on notebook page with digital embellishments and color tweaking.] Okay... Yeah. I have sensory issues. I still like the LOOK of oil pastels, even if it really feels icky to draw with them. (Greasy! Gah!) Ha! ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

[Ballpoint pen and felt pen, reclaimed envelope, and tape on notebook page with digital embellishments and color.] Collaboration between my granddaughter, Felicity, and me! I'm always entertained by the energy and chaos of her drawings! Plus, this zombie would later go on to found a charity that generated thousands of dollars for elementary school art programs! I always feel so low energy in the winter, what are these ghost shows on youtube? 👀
Ha! My wife and I watch all the silly stuff. You know: "What was that?" "Did you hear that?" Some of our favorites include...:
Amy's Crypt
https://www.youtube.com/@AmysCrypt
Slapped Ham
https://www.youtube.com/@SlappedHam
Shrouded Hand
https://www.youtube.com/@ShroudedHand
Project Fear
https://www.youtube.com/@FearProject
Why Files
https://www.youtube.com/@TheWhyFiles
All the good stuff!!! (I'll watch about anything with a UFO or Bigfoot or a ghost involved...)
Do you know any good ones???
This sounds like a great playlist to put in the background while I'm working! I mostly listen to a lot of true crime podcasts, I found a good spooky one that deals with lots of paranormal topics called Euphomet. Also been watching some cult documentaries too. Most recent one was called the cult of Sarah Lawrence I think? And the twin flames one 😃
Just as I hit submit I remembered UNSOLVED MYSTERIES which are all on YouTube too, something relaxing about that show lol
