Greetings fellow craft lovers! Welcome to my workshop @bricolajedc. Today, I invite you to take a look at one of my doodles, a collage made with wooden crayons and a pen, inspired by the Splinterlands card Queen of Crows. Join me and I'll show you the creative process behind this Splinterlands doodle.

Materials:
3 sheets of white opaline cardstock
0.5 mm black gel pen
Wooden crayons (bright colors)
Pencil

I used a ruler, a craft knife, and a round plastic lid.

I found out about this brand of crayons thanks to my sister @aly.squid, who recommended them to me because of their beautiful intense colors and durability. I found out that they were sold at my favorite store and didn't hesitate to go get my box of 24 colors.

For $2.20, I took these beautiful crayons home to my studio. I'm so happy to have these pretty colors because I'd never been able to buy them before.

This time I got them at a great price, so I was able to get a box of 12 pastel crayons for $3.

These crayons are made in Colombia and are highly sought after in this region, which is why their price is so high. They have a thick 4-millimeter lead. The colors are really intense, ideal for coloring on paper.

They also had classic and pastel colors. I took home the pastel colors for $3 as well. I hope to share a doodle made with these colors soon. They are really beautiful, and the 4 mm tip makes the color distribute much better.

Creative process

I selected cool colors from the color palette. This would allow me to create a night scene.

I thought the character in the letter was perfect for this kind of setting. I divided the worksheet into three sections to make a collage.

I used quick strokes with the pen to bring the drawings to life, especially the crows' feathers and the witch's hair.

This one, like many of my doodles, seemed very fun and easy to organize all my ideas. I could say that just by looking at the character, my mind drew the sketch.

I started by cutting the sheet of card into three pieces. One will be vertical and two horizontal.

I stuck the pieces together at the back with paper tape.

I drew an eye with the pencil. I drew it in the corner of the vertical piece so that I didn't have to draw any more of the witch's face.

I used black to make the hat.

Then, with the pen, I drew lots of lines together to make the witch's hair. That was my favorite part.

Next, I used cool colors to create a gradient to represent night, using the center of the three sheets as the starting point.

On the other sheets, I drew a raven in different positions.

I also painted the gradient following the rhythm of the first sheet.

When I finished, I drew more ravens flying in circles further away.

I separated the sheets and that was it! That's how I made my Queen of Crows collage.

I loved working with these brightly colored crayons. The work is very well defined, the colors blend perfectly, and a gradient effect is achieved.
