Hello anime lovers, welcome to another one of my anime reviews. Today I will be reviewing a special anime that is very popular nowadays. It's called The Apothecary Diaries. This is one of my favorite anime. There's nothing to dislike about it. Season 2 ended on July 4th, and that's not so long ago. I was busy with other things, so I didn’t have enough time to watch it regularly. But I finished watching it in just a few hours. To be honest, I liked Season 2 more than Season 1, because in Season 2 we get to see Maomao's chemistry with Jinshi.

Watch the trailer you won’t get anything about the story of the second season, but these are some collected clips from Season 2. She is my favorite female protagonist because she's independent. I can guarantee most people would agree with me about her being the best female lead in a long time. I don’t dislike historical anime, but this is the one that has captured my heart like this. In this season, you will meet new characters with many plot twists. It’s going to be so interesting that you can barely take your eyes off it.

In Season 2, Maomao continues her life as a servant at the palace, and she secretly solves complex mysteries within the inner court. Her sharpness and observation skills make her absolutely necessary to Jinshi. Even though he is a eunuch, he gets swayed into her sensitive matters. In this season, you will get to see the deepening relationship between Maomao and Jinshi their breathtaking chemistry, disclosing their hidden feelings through formal words. Also, many political schemes begin, and Maomao works to uncover their secrets.

New characters are also introduced, each bringing fresh twists to the story. We get to see Maomao’s perspective how she wants to be independent and has no desire to be controlled by anyone, even someone powerful. Each episode has a different take and a new mystery, often involving court politics and a bit of human drama, which we usually see in real life or in the history we have read so far.

Season 2 reveals secrets we could not have imagined, bringing major twists to the story. It has created a more captivating atmosphere than Season 1 because it delves into the depths of the characters, their pasts, and the darker side of the empire. Everything is just mind-blowing. Maomao faces difficulties and solves them with her intelligence, and everything is explained thoroughly with proper detail.

In my opinion what makes this anime apart from other anime is that its intellectual storytelling and detailed explanation. Every episode reveals a new piece of the puzzle, this kind of thing can keep the audience engaged. Unlike the typical historical stories where they don't focus on protagonist’s personal growth, romance or power struggles. I would like it more if they include more romantic scenarios as I love to see Maomao and Jinshi in one frame. Their chemistry is what keeping me here. I can not imagine Jinshi with anyone else but Maomao. I think Maomao also has feelings for Jinshi but she wants to avoid her feelings.

To be honest I have only seen a few female characters whoa re straight forward, knows what they are doing and take their own stand. She unveils the truth with her intelligence that's only a few female leads would do. Most of them depend on the male lead which is a common thing to see. Maomao does not need anyone's help she's independent and can do everything by her own. We get to see the obsessive side of Jinshi which I kinda find attractive some people might not like it. I really like when male leads are obsessed with the female lead it makes my heart flutter.

In most of the stories you will see that male lead does not pay attention to the female lead which annoys me a lot and I see that as a red flag. But Jinshi is totally different you can tell that he can not stay without Maomao. I am more interested in their love life more than the politics. This anime definitely has everything which a perfect anime needs. You're getting a good plot, great visuals and sound track most importantly the intro song is just phenomenal. It's the opening song of season 2 Hayakka Ryouran by Lilas Ikuta make sure to listen to this song for once because you will fall in love with it. The ending of the anime was so good and I need few more seasons.

It's one of the most captivating and refreshing anime so don't miss it. I definitely would reccomend this anime to everyone. Let me know in the comment section if you have watched this anime or not. Also, I am willing to have your different opinions.
