I hope you all had a good start to the year. Today I want to talk about a story I'm very fond of, as it was the first manhwa I ever read, and you can even find my review of it on my blog. Therefore, I couldn't miss the anime adaptation and wanted to vent all the frustration I felt about the manhwa's extras, which came out three years after the main story ended—well, the anime, which in this case would be a donghua. I also have complaints about that, but to avoid going into too much detail, I invite you to enjoy reading and leave your opinions, which are always welcome.

The anime premiered in September 2025, releasing four episodes on the same day and concluding with episode 16, with the possibility of a second season. The animation was done by Colored Pencil Animation; technically, it was made in China, but it seems to have had Japanese involvement, something like that. Plus, it's a Korean story, so as one comment said, the Asian continent took a chance on the story 😂. It's a story in the drama, fantasy, isekai, and slice-of-life genres.
Regarding the plot…
I don't want to go into too much detail about what it's about, since I've already talked about the story and it's practically the same, but with noticeable changes. Even so, you can read the review of the manhwa Even so, things change a lot. For example, here Athanasia, who is the protagonist, isn't a reincarnation. She sees her future through premonitory dreams, where, as the despised daughter of the cold and cruel Emperor Claude, she is exiled and dies in exile. This is also different, but it maintains the same focus: Claude's rejection and Athanasia's premature death.
The story, in general, is about the girl avoiding the tragic end that awaits her, her early interaction with her father, his changing affections, and other adventures that await her in the dangerous imperial life. She also meets other characters who will become her allies in her determination to change her life.
Personal opinion
First and foremost, I believe the author shouldn't have had copyright on their work, because the way they drastically changed the story they created would have made me protest. First, Spoon with the manhwa, letting their fanaticism for a character who wasn't very good, to say the least, take over. His actions were totally questionable, and in the novel, he wasn't even as much of a protagonist as the manhwa gave him. And the protagonist, who did have weight in the story, was sidelined as if nothing had happened. I was furious because the art is beautiful, but they have no respect for other people's work. Of course, there can always be changes due to time, illustration styles, and many other things, however, the author went too far. Even the characters no longer had the essence of the original work. They might as well have just written their own story.
Now then, after sharing my thoughts on the manhwa, let's talk about the donghua. Hmm, first, the fact that they removed the reincarnation aspect because they don't believe in it in China is a mistake, as it's very important to the narrative presented in Who Made Me a Princess. Second, why take a story where the theme of reincarnation is so important? If you've read the novel, you'll know this very well. Now, they also changed Claude's attitude, which isn't necessarily bad, given the family dynamic. I don't have many complaints there because the father-daughter relationship is beautiful. However, in the animated version, they also took liberties with the story. I hope that, despite all this, they follow the novel's plot, especially the important parts. I don't know if I'm explaining myself well; it's like they added extra elements while still continuing along the main path.
As for the animation itself, well, it's pretty, though a bit choppy. It's not the best in a way, but China has been improving in that area. The important thing is that they stayed true to the character designs, especially with Claude and Athanasia's eyes. I didn't have much faith in them, but they did a good job. Lucas will always be my favorite character in all three of his incarnations. I really hope they do him justice in the animation, especially regarding the ending.
Positive points…
Beautiful animation and aesthetics, although it lacks fluidity, but visually it's polished.
Father-daughter relationship is the most noteworthy.
Music that fits the story.
Negative points…
-Changes in the story, especially the reincarnation theme so far.

Espero hayan tenido un buen comienzo de año, el día de hoy quiero hablar de una historia que le tengo mucho cariño, pues fue el primer manwha que leí e incluso puede conseguir mi reseña del mismo en mi blog, por ende, no podría perderme la animación de la misma y dejar salir toda la frustración que me dejo los extras del manwha que salieron 3 años de pues de la finalización de la historia principal, bueno, del anime, que en este caso sería Donghua, también tengo quejas, pero, para no entrar todavía mucho en contexto, los invitó a disfrutar la lectura y a dejar sus opiniones, que siempre serán recibidas.

El anime fue estrenado para septiembre del 2025, lanzando 4 episodios el mismo día y finalizando con el episodio 16, con posibilidad de una segunda temporada; la animación estuvo a cargo de Colored Pencil Animation, técnicamente fue hecha en china, pero al parecer tuvo intervención japonesa, algo así, aunado que es una historia coreana, como dijo un comentario, el continente asiático apostó por la historia 😂. Es una historia de genero drama, fantasía, isekai y recuentos de la vida.
En cuanto a la trama…
No quiero profundizar mucho en lo que se trata, pues ya hable de la historia y es prácticamente lo mismo, pero con cambios notorios, aun así, pueden leer la reseña del manwha aun así, cambian mucho las cosas, por ejemplo, aquí Atanasia, quién es la protagonista, no es una reencarnada, ella ve su futuro a través de sueños premonitorios, donde como la hija despreciada del frío y cruel Emperador Claude, es exiliada, muriendo en el destierro, cosa que también cambia, pero sigue manteniendo el mismo foco, el rechazo de Claude y la muerte prematura de Athanasia.
La historia en general, se trata de la chica evitando el trágico final que le espera, su interacción temprana con su padre, los cambios de afectos del mismo, entre otras aventuras que le espera en la peligrosa vida imperial. Conociendo otros personajes que serán sus aliados a la determinación de cambiar su vida.
Opinión personal
Lo primero y principal es que yo creo que el autor (a) no debió tener derecho del autor en su obra, porque la forma en cómo cambian drásticamente la historia que el formo yo hubiese protestado, primero Spoon con el manwha, dejo que su fanatismo por un personaje que no era muy bueno que se diga, sus acciones eran totalmente cuestionables y que, en la novela ni tenia tanto protagonista como el manwha le dieron, y, al protagonista, que si tenia peso en la historia, lo dejaba a un lado como si nada, a mi me entró una colera, porque dibuja hermoso, pero no tiene respeto por la obra de los demás, claro está, siempre puede haber cambios por el tiempo, la ilustración y muchas otras cosas más, no obstante, se paso la autora, ya ni los personajes tenían como la esencia de la obra original, para eso hacia su propia historia y ya.
Ahora bien, ya después de liberar lo que pensaba del manwha, vamos con el donghua, mmm, primero, el que hayan quitado lo de reencarnada porque en china no creen en eso, ya aquí hay un fallo, pues es muy importante dentro de la narrativa que se está presentado en Who made me a princess, segundo, para que tomas una historia donde su foco es importante el tema de la reencarnación, si leyeron la novela lo sabrán muy bien. Ahora bien, a Claude también le cambiaron la actitud, lo cual no esta mal, por el tema que sea más familiar esto y aquello, ahí no tengo tantas quejas porque la relación padre-hija es hermosa, pero aquí en su versión animada si se tomaron también su libertad de cambiar la historia, esperando que, a pesar de todo ello, sigan el curso de la novela, sobre todo las partes importantes de la misma, no se si me explico bien, es como elementos demás pero que aun continuando en el camino principal.
En cuanto a la animación como tal, pues es bonita, aun así, poca fluida, no es la mejor en cierto modo, aun así, China ha estado mejorando en eso y lo importante es que se mantuvieron fieles en los diseños de los personajes, sobre todo con los ojos de Claude y Athanasia, no le tenia mucha fe, pero lo hicieron bien. Lucas siempre será mi personaje favorito en sus 3 presentaciones, de verdad espero que le hagan justicia en la animación, en cuanto al final.
Puntos positivos…
-Animación y estética hermosa, aunque si le falta como fluidez en la misma, pero visualmente es pulido.
-Relación de padre-hija más destacable.
-Música acorde a la historia.
Puntos negativos…
-Cambios en la historia, sobre todo el tema de reencarnación hasta el momento.
-El desarrollo interno de Athanasia que no llegamos a ver con más profundidad aquí.
-Ritmo inconsistente y cambios de arcos importantes.

En este sentido, la historia de Who made me a princess ha sufrido muchos cambios, en referencia a la novela, su versión de Donghua brilla por su animación y que aun emociona, pues si bien, suprime partes argumentales de la trama original, aun estoy en la expectativa de ver que nos depara arco con sus partes importantes y que no la cambien como el manwha. También me ví este anime o donghua. Me llamó la atención al principio por los comentarios que leía de la obra y decidí verlo. La animación está hecha en China, pero tiene un doblaje en japonés, además de que la obra original es coreana. Así que esta adaptación es una completa mezcla de gran parte de asia. 😅
La historia le gustó, si es cierto que al saber que era una historia de reencarnación hubiera deseado que desarrollaran mejor eso. Incluso tendría más sentido, pero bueno. La animación me gustó, sobre todo por el diseño de los personajes, aunque la paleta de colores es muy brillante para mí gusto. La banda sonora es excelente y la historia es bastante interesante en cierta parte. El final me enganchó por completo, ya tengo ganas de ver su continuación.

Es que, osea el tema de la reencarnación es un punto clave en la historia y varios sucesos, que el manwha obviaron porque a la autora le dio la gana 🙃 y bueno, si no haz leido la novela, no presenta un problema el como se desarrolla la historia. En cuanto a la animación, es bonita, pero aun le falta fluidez a la animacion china, aunque siento que hicieron un buen trabajo el tratar de simularla al manwha. 😊

Este fue de los primeros manhwas que leí y cuando supe que le sacaron anime me gustó porque así seguro podrían animar más historia más adelante, aunque está en específico no era de mis historias favoritas sobretodo por Claude. En mi caso vi los primeros capítulos por curiosidad, no me gustó (sobretodo por los cambios) pero fue entretenido por un rato.
Con esta historia se ha sufrido mucho los cambios, el manwha es bonito, pero la autora hizo lo que le dio la gana y se salio de la novela. Y en el donghua (anime), pues tambien estan haciendo lo mismo y muy drastico, hasta me perdia en muchas escenas. Veremos como resulta en una segunda temporada.

Si, realmente no han respetado la historia original, que seria la novela y tenia que quejarme de ello, porque aja puede haber ciertos cambios para bien, pero la trama de la novela es hermosa y mucho mejor que la que presentaron en el manwha y hasta el momento, el anime 😞, bueno, espero que una segunda temporada desarrollen y mejoren esto.
