Atro Boy [Anime Serie from 1963] ESP/ENG
I remember with great affection this series that I used to watch back in the 60s. When this series premiered in my country in 1965 or so, I was about nine years old, I could not watch it at home because we did not have a TV, but I watched it at the house of some neighbors who were considered the “rich” just because they were one of the few families that could have one of these televisions, but what was it about? you may be wondering, since obviously most of you here are too young to know, but I urge you to ask your parents to see if they remember this series. It was about an android robot that is created by a scientist who is obsessed with the death of his son Tobio, so he creates this robot in his image and likeness, but when he sees that it does not grow he gets frustrated and sells it to the circus, he also develops an inordinate hatred against robots and thinks that they should be treated as machines without feeling or as simple slaves.
Yo recuerdo con mucho cariño esta serie que yo veía por allá en los años 60. Cuando esta serie se estrenó en mi país sería más o menos 1965, yo tendría unos nueve años, no podía verla en casa porque no teníamos televisor, pero la veía en casa de unos vecinos que eran considerados como los "ricos" tan solo por el hecho de que eran de las pocas familias que podían contar con uno de estos televisores. ¿pero de qué se trata? tal vez se estén preguntando ustedes, ya que obviamente la mayoría aquí es muy joven para saberlo pero los insto a preguntarle a sus padres a ver si recuerdan esta serie. Se trataba de un robot androíde que es creado por un científico que está obsesionado con la muerte de su hijo Tobio, así que crea este robot a su imagen y semejanza, pero al ver que no crece se frustra y lo vende al circo, además que desarrolla un odio desmedido contra los robots y piensa que deben ser tratados como máquinas sin sentimiento o como simples esclavos.
Each episode was different but they were full of adrenaline, or at least that's what I remember, obviously they were absurd situations but for the mind of a child they were great challenges, but now that I analyze it more deeply as an adult I realize that it is practically like the story of Pinocchio, a boy who tries to live up to the expectations of his creator, but everyone ignores that he really has feelings, at the beginning (when he is in the circus) he only wants to win his freedom but later he is enveloped by a great feeling of empathy towards humanity that transforms him into a hero.
Cada episodio era diferente pero estaban cargados de mucha adrenalina, o al menos eso recuerdo, obviamente eran situaciones absurdas pero para la mente de un niño se trataba de grandes desafíos, pero ahora que lo analizo con más profundidad siendo un adulto me doy cuenta que es prácticamente como la historia de Pinocho, un niño que pretende llenar las expectativas de su creador, pero todos ignoran que realmente tiene sentimientos, al inicio (cuando está en el circo) solo quiere ganar su libertad pero posteriormente lo envuelve un gran sentimiento de empatía hacia la humanidad que lo transforma en un héroe.
Another thing that caught my attention when watching a short episode the other day online is that I realized the high expectations people had for the future in the 1960s. The series is based in the year 2013, and the manga the series is based on is based in 2003. That is, back then they imagined the Earth would be bursting with high technology, like flying humanoid robots that would have such a degree of autonomy that they could think for themselves and even have feelings. I know that science and technology have advanced a lot these days, even in robotics, but I find it funny how exaggerated their vision was back then.
Otra cosa que llamó mi atención al ver un breve episodio el otro día en internet, es que me di cuenta de las altas expectativas que tenían en los años 60 sobre el futuro, ya que la serie está basada en el año 2013, y en el manga del que deriva la serie está basado en el año 2003, es decir que en ese entonces imaginaban que la tierra derrocharía alta tecnología como robots humanoides voladores que tuvieran un grado de autonomía tal que pudieran pensar por si mismos y hasta tener sentimientos. Sé que hoy en día la ciencia y la tecnología han avanzado muchísimo, incluso en materia de robótica pero me da risa la visión tan exagerada que tenían entonces.
In conclusion, it's a series that shaped the childhood of a generation that grew up with high expectations of technology, but also with the fixed idea that we should treat everyone equally and not look down on anyone because we all have feelings and we don't want to hurt them. I think I have watched this when I was kid but my memories are vivid. Thanks for bringing it back I almost forgot about it.
¡Qué genial! Es maravilloso que pudieras verla cuando eras un niño por esos años 😮Casualmente tengo meses viendo este anime. Hacía mucho tiempo que había querido ver Astroboy y cuando finalmente pude decidir comenzar, decidí hacerlo desde esta versión, que es considerada como la más cruda.
Puedo confesar que estoy realmente impresionada con el nivel de animación que se tenía en esa época, Me gusta mucho apreciar como los animadores hicieron todo lo posible por realizar algunas escenas y movimientos que se ven realmente complicados para la época (Como me pasó mientras miraba Ribbon no kishi o La Princesa caballero, del mismo autor). También me fascina mucho la personalidad que tiene el pequeño Astro, demostrándonos que tiene un gran corazón y es mucho más humano que la propia humanidad.
Si bien las aventuras en ocasiones me parecen un poco bizarras o sin sentido, me gusta como muchas veces se resuelven los conflictos, dejándote una moraleja o una reflexión. Como mencionas, es realmente fascinante ver como Osamu Tezuka retrata el futuro o el aspecto futurista que se maneja en el anime, lo cual demuestra el grado de imaginación que tenía el autor 😌
Sin mencionar que me he encantado con el personaje del profesor Elefant, me fascina mucho ese científico en cada aparición suya te muestra su sapiencia extraordinaria y la forma paternal con la que se comporta con Astro, siempre enternece mi corazón 😇
Estoy ansiosa por terminar esta versión y poder pasar a las siguientes 😉 Pero estoy casi segura de que ninguna va a poder compararse a ésta. Muchas gracias por hablar acerca de este anime súper importante en la cultura de los amantes de la animación japonesa. Esperemos que otros se animen a verlo 💚
