Recommendation: The only ending for the villain is death. [Eng/Esp]
Hello, manhwa lovers!
I hope you are all well. Today I'm here to talk to you about one of my favourite manhwas, which I've been reading for quite some time and which is now reaching its climax. This manhwa is called: The Only Ending for the Villain is Death.
This manhwa is full of romance, intrigue, drama, and several sad moments. It also makes use of a plot device that is often used in manhwas: reincarnation and regression.
This manhwa tells the story of a young Korean woman who lived a lonely and miserable life as an illegitimate daughter. Although her father took care of her, he did not give her affection or attention, and her siblings despised her. Despite feeling bad about this, she did not let it determine her life, so she decided to leave that house as soon as she could.
At university and living as best she could away from her family, she hears about a popular game called "The Lady's Love, Love Project", a role-playing and decision-making game where you are Yvonne, the lost daughter of a duke, and must return to your family, become the "princess of the ducal house," achieve 100% favourability to obtain a confession from one of your love interests, and defeat the villain, who is your sister, who was adopted after you disappeared.

Soon, the game offers her the opportunity to play the difficult level and get the secret ending, so she agrees. The difficult mode is played from the perspective of the adopted daughter and villain of the story, Penelope Eckart. Playing from her perspective, the protagonist realises that she wasn't actually evil, but that it was the fault of the 'story' and various misunderstandings. But despite spending hours playing, all of Penelope's endings ended in a gruesome death, as if the game was forcing that ending on her.
Exhausted, she goes to sleep and when she wakes up, she realises that she is in Penelope's body and must now do everything she can to get a confession and return to the real world, otherwise she will suffer one of the many gruesome deaths that Penelope had in the game. Every decision she makes has consequences, and her free will (not acting as the original Penelope would) is punished in a game that seems designed to kill her no matter what.
Something I liked from the very beginning is the protagonist, a girl who lived her life despised by her family and who played from Penelope's perspective. She feels no affection for the main characters, such as her father Duke Eckar and her brothers Derrick and Reynold, and even less for her love interests, Crown Prince Callisto and the wizard Winter. She perceives them as the cause of Penelope's suffering and fatal destiny. She is calm, cold and calculating, refusing to live the life of Penelope, who, because she was adopted, lived under the scrutiny, contempt and malice of those around her, including the servants of the ducal household, who abused Penelope behind the backs of the duke and his sons. Penelope is a 'player', so there is a system of rewards and punishments, and she can see the favourability ratings.
From the outset, Penelope is not looking for love or a family; she just wants to return to her world, so she does everything she can to change everyone's perception of her in order to get a confession and return to her world. At times, Penelope manages to see traces of what happened to her body in her other life and discovers certain truths. Like Penelope, her father and brothers in the game try to earn her forgiveness, although Penelope is not interested. However, as the story progresses, she cannot help but begin to feel a certain affection for them.
The story moves forward and Penelope discovers that the supposed 'game' was not just a game and that she did not get there by chance. She will have to face challenges, such as the arrival of Yvonne, who does not seem to be the sweet protagonist of the original story, while an ancient cult, worshipping a pagan goddess, tries to take over the kingdom.
Penelope does not seem able to forgive or let go of all the damage caused, even though her family does everything possible to redeem themselves. Even so, she will learn what love is from one of her love interests. Although she refuses to allow herself to love and be loved. Together with him, she must use everything at her disposal to achieve a happy ending and avoid the fate that the game wants to force upon her.
If you've made it this far, I hope you liked the recommendation and that you'll be encouraged to watch this Manhwa!

I enjoyed your suggestion. I enjoyed your description of the struggles of Penelope and the unfair destiny which was imposed on her. It is even more gripping because of the way the story combines romance, drama and reincarnation. The most interesting to me is that the so called villain was not really evil but formed in misunderstanding and cruelty. That gives it a deeper level and her trip becomes strong. Now I am convinced that this manhwa is worth reading in order to see how Penelope combats against a fate predetermined to end in tragedy.
Thank you! It's a great story, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Penelope is a fantastic character and her story is undoubtedly one of the best I've read in this type of manhwa.
