The three main characters, Eren, Mikasa, and Armin, feel very discouraged and sad because they feel they have lost everything. Eren harbors a lot of resentment and vows to defeat all the Titans and leave not a single one standing, while Mikasa isn't so optimistic because she knows that the Titans are very powerful and they are just ordinary humans without any powers. Armin, however, is willing to accompany Eren in his madness, and Mikasa will do everything possible to protect him because she knows he's a very impulsive boy. She believes Eren couldn't survive alone in this world, especially one with so much hunger and despair. Humanity is on the verge of extinction.

The Titans have already annihilated 10,000 inhabitants, and the remaining population is starving. Although strategies have been planned, there is still much to be done.

Eren feels powerless in the face of so many tragic events and suffers from dreams and hallucinations that keep him awake. Mikasa always encourages him and treats him like a young son. Eren realizes that it's necessary to confront this disaster and tells Armin and Mikasa that he will join the guard to defend the population and fight against the Titans. Armin says he will follow him, and Mikasa agrees to join the guard to protect Eren. Together they join an army that will try to destroy the Titans and will do their best in the training camps.
