100 Meters Anime Review
The very last anime of 2025 was a movie and a sports themed one for that matter.
The Japanese preview was on September 17th and it's really amazing that from then till December 31st when it was released on Netflix that I didn't hear a word about this cinematic diamond.
Follow me as I review the movie that took me on a journey... A Journey of 100 meters.
100 Meters
Plot
The movie follows Togashi, a naturally fast runner who had always enjoyed winning the 100 meters dash. A transfer student Komiya comes along and his determination to win drags them both to a heated rivalry and numerous matches.
Matches that are settled in just 10 seconds.
Like I said before this is a movie that went completely under my radar until it was released internationally on 31st.
Even then, I simply watched it on a whim, not knowing that this show would be the perfect way to end the year 2025.

The Japanese showing came out on the 19th of September in Japan and so we can say it took it's sweet time before being released internationally.
Yet I liked the unplanned symbolism between its release date and the movies themes.

We look at Togashi as he goes through the ups and downs of an athlete and learns to love the sport against even after being forced to accept the harsh realities of it.

Togashi is fast. Very fast. Natural speed plus great form and build made him a gifted runner in his sixth grade and throughout highschool.
Yet there's a limit gift alone can carry you and there are some who are just more gifted than you.

We were introduced to a handful of other runner athletes and see just how everyone else accepted their realities.

Then there are the other athletes who play it safe, afraid of what'll happen if they give into their selfish desires to win. It really is an interesting point of view to watch.

This main theme about this movie or rather the theme I'm willing to choose as the main theme is the theme of breaking pass your limits.
Quoting the in movie runner Kaido
If winning a race isn't possible for me here, then I'll just do all I can to escape from this reality, and doing that means I still have hope for myself.
It means that my attitude in life is to not give up on me.

That's the cool thing about anime sometimes, the little pieces of wisdom that you can grasp from the oddest of shows.
I'm not the fastest runner although I do have a pretty long stride (6"2 baby!!), nor am I really the most interested in the track sport world.
Yet as one can gather from my review this movie isn't only about running or field or sports.

Life goes quickly, for some it feels just like a 100 meters race. The idea is that how would you live in that 10 seconds. Would you try your best to win?
Embrace every emotion? Or accept defeat and drop out.
Watch this 10 out of 10 movie and decide✨

The movie is incredible. Aside from the underlying themes of mental illness, the animation is amazing; it really surprised me.
