Yona of the dawn -A story of power, love and rebirth
Stumbled upon my sister watching this on tv and I decided to join her. It was so intriguing, that I had to go back and search for more episodes to watch all by myself. I've talked about my extreme love for fantasy books and animes. For some reasons, I'm not a fan of the movies. This anime was IT. And I know it's weird for me to start hyping the show just at the beginning of the review, but I couldn't help it. I've left plenty episode animes for now and I'm residing around 13-24 episodes. I cover more easily and I don't get bored out quickly. My attention span is getting shorter by the day, unfortunately for me.

Yona of the dawn is made up of about 24 episodes with a bunch of OVAs. The anime is pretty good, a gorgeous storyline and wonderful characters. It revolves around Yona. Yona is the only princess of the Kouka Kingdom. She grows up in luxury, surrounded by everything she could ever want, and she is deeply in love with her cousin Su-won. To her, life seems perfect, safe, and unshakable. But that illusion breaks on her sixteenth birthday when Su-won betrays her. He kills King Il, Yona’s father, and takes the throne for himself. The man Yona loves becomes the one who destroys her world.

In one night, Yona loses her father, her home, and the life she knew. The only person who stands by her is Hak, her childhood friend and bodyguard. Hak risks everything to protect her, and together they escape the palace with their lives barely intact. For the first time, Yona sees the truth about the kingdom she thought she knew. Outside the palace walls, poverty and suffering spread across the land, problems her sheltered life never allowed her to see.
Guided by a priest named Ik-su, Yona learns of an ancient prophecy. Long ago, the Crimson Dragon King was protected by four dragon warriors, each blessed with part of his power. The prophecy says that if Kouka is ever in danger, the descendants of those warriors will gather once more around the red-haired king. Yona, with her fiery hair, is believed to be connected to that legend.
Determined to survive and grow stronger, Yona sets out with Hak to find the four dragons. Along the way, she discovers each of them: Kija with the dragon’s claw, Shin-ah with the dragon’s eyes, Jae-ha with the dragon’s leg, and Zeno, the mysterious final dragon whose body cannot die. The journey is not only about gathering allies but also about Yona herself. She transforms from a helpless princess into someone who learns to fight, to defend others, and to face her own pain.

Though she travels with her new companions, Su-won remains a shadow in her story. He is not a simple villain. While his betrayal left her heart shattered, she sees that he is a capable ruler who brings stability to the kingdom. This leaves Yona caught between love, hate, and a destiny larger than her own feelings. Her journey is not just about reclaiming what was taken, but about becoming someone who can change the fate of the kingdom.
Ha! And that's it for today's review. I loved it, although I got bored at one part. Please look it up when you can and thanks for reading;)

Ohhh, i remember liking every episodes of it. It's been a long time though. But back then, I find this series worth to rewatch though I couldn't do that because I got busy too. Seeing this again made me want to rewatch it. I actually really like the art style here, they are all beautifully drawn.
Oh yes, every character is so amazing, so beautifully drawn and if I was still in my era of marrying every and any fine anime character, I would’ve gotten a bunch of new partners last week;)
This story is great 😍 how it developed and everything that came after (I read the manga haha 😂) and it's a shame they didn't continue it because there are a lot of doubts and mysteries surrounding certain characters, like Soo Won and Zeno, those two give off the most mysterious aura of the whole series and I would have liked it to continue, but at least we were able to enjoy this first animated and very pretty part by the way hehe ❤️
Oh yes! I was sad when I found out they'd discontinued the animation. Made me think of toyko ghoul and seraph of the end and how they were both peak and underrated animes that fell off in animation and got discontinued. I genuinely loved all the characters in Yona of the dawn. Couldn't pick a favorite.
esta historia me gusto mucho, me encanto la animación, buen post
I really liked this story, I loved the animation, good post
Thankyou for your kind words @yasmarit 🥰
The plot sounds interesting, I think I'll add it to my list. Thanks for the recommendation!
