Dororo: A Tale of Loss, Redemption, and Finding Humanity One Battle at a TimeENG/SPA]

No witty or humorous comment to begin today's talk guys. No bigger joke than life;) Anyways, I believe some of us would've seen this and can probably nod their heads in response when I say this was a decent show.
Dororo...the amount of times I've seen this anime on my watchlist and scrolled past it is depressing and also outrageous. It's my first time seeing it and I don't know how to feel about it. It's good,I can't even deny that fact but at the same time... it's also sad. I was looking for something to lighten my mood not make me think!

Well, anyways... let's begin on a review, shall we?
Dororo is a gripping historical-fantasy anime set in war-torn feudal Japan, centered around two unlikely companions: a quiet, mysterious boy named Hyakkimaru and a quick-witted orphan thief named Dororo.
The story begins with a desperate lord, Daigo Kagemitsu, who offers his unborn son to twelve demons in exchange for power and prosperity for his land. The deal works; his domain flourishes, but his child is born without limbs, eyes, skin, or even a voice. Abandoned as an infant, Hyakkimaru is rescued and raised by a kind-hearted doctor who gives him prosthetics and teaches him how to survive.
Equipped with blade arms, killer reflexes, and a demonic body count that would make Doomguy blush, Hyakkimaru sets off on a mission to reclaim his stolen body parts, one demon at a time. Along the way, he meets Dororo, a clever and courageous child who becomes his traveling companion. Together, they navigate a brutal world of war, poverty, and supernatural threats, slowly uncovering truths about themselves and each other.
As Hyakkimaru regains his body piece by piece, he also rediscovers what it means to be human—feeling pain, joy, sadness, and even anger for the first time. Each victory brings him closer to being whole, but also forces him to face the emotional and moral consequences of his choices. Meanwhile, Dororo’s own story unfolds, revealing a hidden past and a legacy left behind by her revolutionary parents who fought for justice and equality.
The anime delves deeply into themes of identity, sacrifice, morality, and the question of what truly makes someone human. It asks whether vengeance can lead to peace, and whether it’s possible to break the cycle of hatred passed down from one generation to the next.

Despite its serious tone, Dororo is filled with moments of warmth, charm, and quiet humor—often through Dororo though. She distracts us from the excessive gore,a lot.
By the end, Hyakkimaru chooses forgiveness over revenge, walking away from his past to seek a new future, forgiving his demon loving father I guess. Dororo, now more determined than ever, decides to carry on her parents’ dream of rebuilding a better world.
If you like samurai, supernatural chaos, and existential crises wrapped in anime glory, this one’s for you.
Thanks for reading...

It's been highly recommended to me, possibly I'll watch it after this 💗.

I actually couldn't finish this series as I found it really dad and depressing so I had no idea whether he get a happy ending or not. Although I like some warn scenes in there but I can't help but get sad. Should I watch it again 🤔.
Hmmmm... personally I'd say yes so you can see what happens at the end of the show;)
I watched "Dororo" and I have a very different impression than reviewer: https://ecency.com/hive-158489/@onlyjob/dororo-2019-24-episodes
The show hardly have any redeeming qualities, with protagonist having fake face (so animators could be lazy) and therefore he expresses no facial emotions whatsoever; absurd plot with amputee of everything imaginable fights better than anyone; lack of edifying story and rather primitive story overall; etc. etc.
IMHO Dororo is bad and depressing, especially with awful moral stance that it takes. (I don't recall anything humorous whatsoever.) I would recommend to avoid it if you prefer good and beautiful in anime.
Hmm, you genuinely have a lot to say about it. I didn't say it was humorous though. I only stated I didn't have the energy to begin the post with any humuor... thanks for commenting.
A lot of people have recommended me this one and I can see why, it seems like my type of story. Although I can understand that it's not exactly a light thing to watch
Yeah... it's like chainsaw man gore then with a mix of some depressing and sad stuff🫠
It sounds rough, but it can be interesting when you want to see that kind of stories
it's a story that helps you to reflect a lot, good post
I don't know but I laugh when I read this. Yep, there's really no bigger joke than life itself...Ok, ok moving away from that, I already stumbled on this anime for like many many times, but I always end up not watching it because I'm too cowardly to feel depressed. Life's been saddening lately, so as much as possible I steer clear with this kind of anime, but upon reading your review, this somehow piqued my yet still, I'm quite afraid that it would really be depressing. So maybe this coming Holy Week vacation I'll try watching it, and let's see ...
You haven't seen it!!!?
I genuinely thought I was the only one who hasn't seen it fr!
It's good but it's depressing...and gorey. You've seen toyko ghoul right? Let's add a mix of Castlevania, toyko ghoul and chainsaw man and a huge amount of sadness. That's it man, that's it!😭
And holy week, I'm looking forward to that holiday alot!❤️
I watched some of its videos, but not really the full episode. That huge amount of sadness was something I'm not fond of. The concept tho was intriguing, so yeah...I'll try it this holy week break if I can >v<!
I don't like to cry so I avoided this anime, but I plan on watching this anime now thanks for amazing details.
I completely understand!😭😂
