KPop Demon Hunters (an American animated film)

As an anime lover, I find myself interested in watching the new animated film on Netflix, The KPop Demon Hunters. Actually, I watched this animated film with my daughter, @tegoshei, a few days ago, and we were both thoroughly entertained and enjoyed it.

KPop Demon Hunters is an American animated musical fantasy film produced by Sony Pictures Animation. In this film, the story follows the KPop girl group Huntr/x, comprising Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, as they are the recent demon hunters in this era.

In this historical version of Korea, demons are active, capturing the souls of living human beings to sustain the power of their demon king called Gwi-Ma. This happens throughout history, and there are always 3 women who are always ready to fight to stop their evil doings. And now it is in the hands of these three latest incarnations, called demon hunters in the form of KPop idol Huntr/x.

This made Gwi-Ma really upset, knowing that there was a group that stopped his demons from entering the human world. They conquered demons through their singing. So, they wrapped up a world tour, slaying demons along the way to ensure all human beings were safe and protected.

As Gwi-Ma was really upset, one demon was up to the challenge to stop the Huntr/x. And this is Jinu. He made a deal with Gwi-Ma that if he succeeded in defeating Huntr/x, he wanted all of his human memories to be completely wiped out. So they came as a boy band called Saja Boys. Eventually, the two Kpop idols meet and battle for the spotlight.

Rumi and Jinu become attached to each other and share personal secrets, as they are both part demons who are against it. This is a truly beautiful film, with many emotional elements, including humor and sadness. It conveys love, shame, and offers valuable lessons.

One of the scenes that I love the most is when Rumi interrupts Saja Boy's performance with her new song that breaks Gwi-Ma's trance, and also when Jinu sacrifices himself to save Rumi. That was so touching, and in the end, it proves that evil will always be defeated by the beautiful souls and their good deeds.

The soundtracks are also really great!! I had a great time watching this animated film with my daughter. Not just fun, but with mixed emotions, and hoping that there would be a part two for Rumi and Jinu, as I am one of their fans now. This is really a must-watch, so I am inviting you to watch this if you haven't seen it yet. I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed.
