So, we had another interesting round of Chess today! 💃💃💃
I was initially hot and climbing the leaderboards then somehow my rank began to decline. Well its chess, it happens, LOL.
Okay, let's stop crying over spilt milk and dive into a quick review and analysis of how this interesting tournament went.
Here's how the final leaderboard looked:
🥇 TheMadman4rmDaSouth– 38 points
🥈queen5layer– 32 points
🥉 stuffings– 31 points
📊
As usual, let's highlight some of the games that are quite interesting and we could learn from 👇🏼
Todays Game Highlights and Analysis
JUSTOLA VS JAKI
I and @jaki01 have played a total of 3 games together, and this is the first time I've won. It was truly an amazing game. Let's look through it. White kicked off with the Opening: Nimzowitsch Defense
Black berserked White and started off playing quite well. In fact, I was confused when he made a certain move and wasn't sure how to respond, the move was Knight c3 to Knight b4. I paused and taught for a second beacuse I knew a wrong move would accelerate my downfall. Lets see the move made:
The game came to end after minutes of circling round the board and white won won by timer. It was a close one because of the time constraint on blacks end.

JUSTOLA VS JUSTFAVOUR
@justfavour , a rematch is due, LOL.
So, I (black) beserked knowing fully well I was going up with a good player. Well, you gats risk it all sometimes.

So, time caught up on black and was unable to outwit his opponent in that time constraint and white won beautifully.

THEMADMAN4RMDASOUTH VS STUFFINGS
I like to always learn from what the best is doing. I looked through the leaderboard and decided to pick a game he won with a strong opponent. White played the Queen's Pawn Game: Stonewall Attack. Something sweet happened, white played classical bishop sacrifice which is a typical sacrifice of a bishop by White playing Bxh7+. It rapidly changed the game and white won beautifully with a checkmate.

@ecency the visual markdown seems to have a bug 😪
All my editing didn't reflect after posting. Mostly centering.
Please have the devs look at the functionality🙏🏼
P.S. I love the new text color and emoji feature added 👍🏼
Sorry for inconvenience! Can you tell us more, what browser are you using and what exactly not respected after publishing centering text or photos, all details help us detect and fix issues?!
Thank you for responding .
it's the web version of Ecency I made use of to publish my Post on hive, specifically Google chrome browser.
Everything works except alignment. Trying to center text and images doesn't work after publishing.
Is there any other detail you need to detect the problem and fix the bug?
I'd be happy to help by providing every detail needed.
Thank you so much again for responding. 👍🏾
I will send a picture of what I actually expected. Give me few minutes please
@ecency, I was expecting it to look like this after publishing

Congratulations to the winners and to everyone who was able to participate in the tournament. I really appreciate your post and will review the games you've shared with us. I wonder how many members of the community are not familiar with the algebraic notation system used in chess games. I know some posts have been shared that teach it, which is so essential for sharing games and instructive exercises across all three phases of chess—openings and defenses, the middlegame, and the endgame. It brings me great satisfaction that we have this community where we learn and connect as lovers of the Science Game.
Thank you so much for your engagement and support !
Yeah, not a lot of people are familiar with the algebraic notation system in chess, took me a while to also understand it as a child
Thank youuu, hope you enjoy reviewing the games
