A king drawing I did 4 years ago

Dear esteemed hivers,

I would like to take a moment to share a significant experience from four years ago that has greatly contributed to my growth as an artist. During that period, I had the honor of creating a drawing of Oba Oniba Ekun, the revered King of IBA LAND. This endeavor arose from my profound admiration for His Royal Highness and my unwavering passion for the art form.

I invested considerable time and effort into this piece, refining my skills through diligence and persistence. One of the more challenging aspects was the intricate shading of the lines on the king's crown, which demanded a keen eye for detail. After overcoming this challenge, I dedicated myself to ensuring that the artwork was presented in the most elegant manner, as delivering it directly to the king was of paramount importance to me.

Throughout the creative journey, I encountered various obstacles, including the unfortunate theft of my mobile phone, which contained reference materials essential for my work. This setback was particularly challenging; however, I was able to print an alternate version of the artwork, enabling me to complete it in time for the presentation.

On the day of our meeting, the king expressed genuine astonishment upon learning that the piece was crafted by hand, even conjecturing it might be a print. His acknowledgment filled me with immense pride, despite the inability to share progress shots, as they were all stored on my stolen phone. To this day, the king remains unaware that every detail was executed solely by my hand, and I am profoundly grateful that he has chosen to display the artwork within his palace.
