Art Journal: A Frozen Landscape | Coffee Painting โ˜•๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ

Hello, dear art lovers! I hope this message finds you warm and well on this lovely Sunday. It truly brings me joy to share my latest artwork with you, created using coffee powder. Your thoughts and feelings about it would mean so much to me.

Envision a serene landscape blanketed in white. The trees stand gracefully against a soft sky, their branches adorned with the weight of snow. A frozen rivulet captures the gentle light, its surface reflecting the tranquil beauty of its surroundings. The air is crisp and quietly filled with a profound stillness, interrupted only by the gentle crunch of snow beneath your feet. This frozen landscape is a world transformedโ€”radiant in its calmness.
I invite you to take a moment to immerse yourself in the quiet wonder of this winter scene. May the stillness offer you comfort, and may the beauty of the season fill your heart with inspiration.

I used three types of painting brushes for this piece and it took me one hour and a half to finish it. For those who are interested in trying this unique medium, you can follow the basic methods below.

Materials Needed:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Watercolor Paper or sketching Paper
๐Ÿ‘‰ Pencil and Eraser
๐Ÿ‘‰ Coffee Powder
๐Ÿ‘‰ 2 small cups ( lighter and darker shades)
๐Ÿ‘‰ Ruler
๐Ÿ‘‰ Clean Water
๐Ÿ‘‰ Rag
๐Ÿ‘‰ Paper napkin or paper towel

Brushes:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Flat Brush /small #10, 10/32 / 8.0mm
๐Ÿ‘‰ Liner Brush #2 / 2/32" / 1.6mm
๐Ÿ‘‰ Filbert brush

Note: Keep all the materials ready before you start painting.

Basic Procedure:
โ€ข Outline or sketch your painting reference.
โ€ข Paint using a lighter shade of the background by creating a beautiful texture.
โ€ข On the middle ground, paint the first layer of the subject.
โ€ข The same procedure with the foreground.
โ€ข Once the first layer is completely dry, you can proceed to paint with a darker shade of coffee.
โ€ข Then add details to come alive of your painting. I used a liner brush for the thin details.

Take note: In putting details, you cannot have sharp lines and shapes unless it is completely dry.
