Typical Spring Weather in Scotland for our walk

Hello Hivians, it seems that the typical Scottish summer weather is upon us.

If you are unhappy with the weather then just wait fiveminutes and it changes.

Today was sun, rain, grey clouds, blue skies, wind and white clouds and a combination of a few of those at any one time!

Typical Spring Weather in Scotland for our walk.png

image.png

I had some business to attend to in Edinburgh so we are going to see some shots on the way there.

As I left home I could see the day would be a day for typical weather!

image.png

Aren't the trees looking green?

image.png

It always surprises me how hardy they are.

image.png

We had the driest start to the year for decades. And even now the little rain we have had has made no real difference.

Grass is looking yellow and brown in places.

image.png

We still had blue skies though...

image.png

image.png

The skies they be a changing!

Funnily enough, Mrs T told me to take my umbrella as I am going to Edinburgh afterall!

I did take a wee one in my backpack.

Crossing the Firth of Forth

As we go over the bridge from Fife into Edinburgh ... the weather gets grey!

image.png

Edinburgh Castle minus sunshine

image.png

Actually I need to take you guys around it. It is a Historical Scotland building and we as members get in for free.

image.png

Sir Walter Scott monument

The literate amongst you might know who this memorial is dedicated to.

image.png

Meanwhile we are where I am attending to some business.
image.png

Who knows what this is?

A clue .... it is a she!

I shall dedicate a whole post to her soon!

image.png

Right, my meetings are over and time for a walk!

However, have you seen the sky?

image.png

Fluffing rain!

So bugger it, I will just go home, I am back next week so hopefully the weather will be sunny then!

image.png

Typical! I leave because of the rain and the sun says hello!

image.png

Do you recognise this church @nancybriti1?

image.png

This is typical! Oh well I am on the way home now!

image.png

image.png

Closing out over the water

I added these two pictures ....

image.png

... because they have these boats that you can see. In a couple of weeks we are going in one.

image.png

Forth bridges

We have three bridges and in that boat you saw we will sail under them!

image.png

Pretty cool huh!

Cheers everyone!

I hope you enjoyed our little adventure!

This post is for #wednesdaywalk which was inspired by @tattoodjay

Thanks for visiting and I hope you managed to get out for a walk this week.

To Sir Walter Scott, Scottish writer. Oh, God, you're putting me on the spot, Ed. Don't prosecute me if I'm wrong! Is that St Giles Cathedral? The decor at the top of the towers looks like it to me. Forgive me if that's not the right answer. hahaha. As always, nice to walk with you through the streets of Edinburgh, although I didn't know I was going to be tested today. hahaha. A hug the size of a cathedral

Murphy's Law! How many times did we go away, have rainy days and the day of departure, the sun comes out!
Magnificent view of Edinburgh Castle though, and you saw quite a number of great sights, despite the miserable weather, Ed.
I'm curious who 'she' is!

No way, that big spire thing is for Sir Walter Scott? Ivanhoe was one of my favorite books as a young man.

Ivanhoe is a classic and great that you enjoyed it. Yep that is the Sir Walter Scott monument, he did a lot for Edinburgh and was one of the founders of my school back in 1824.

You're going to sail? 😌😁. Though it's the driest weather, the grasses and trees still look alive and fluffing😌

The buildings always amaze me. That Scott building has to be my favourite thing. It looks like something from a sci-fi movie. Beautiful skies...

Just bang into people on the pavement with those, and thinking about I don't have one anymore. You know we call them golf umbrellas, as that is what you take on the golf course here as it often rains

Gosh but your photos took me right back to the very special time I spent there with my mother! We stayed in the "Old Town" actually but also took a trip out to see the bridges where we had some fish and chips at a local pub.

Oh I didn't know you've been to Edinburgh. Hope you enjyed yourself with your mother :) Fish and chips here are awesome, especially in the Fife villages on this side of the water.

It was an incredible adventure. we took a bus all the way from London. We did our best to speak Afrikaans or at least sound Afrikaans. There's definitely still much palpable hostility toward anyone "British sounding," which I honestly appreciate. I actually thought Charles was going to set Scotland and Ireland free once he became king.

I used to work in London and it isn't that far really from Edinburgh, mind you the train is quicker than the bus.

I actually thought Charles was going to set Scotland and Ireland free once he became king.

Ireland is a country in its own right and is part of the EU while we the UK aren't. The monarch has no powers to do anything like that anymore.

We have an extremely complicated history, me being a protestant from Northern Ireland that had to leave as a child due to The Troubles I most definitely am British.

It's the truth hey. the monarchy is just a great marketing tool. The real power lies with parliament. I was stoked, not being a fan of Charles AT ALL, when he knighted Skin from Skunk Anansi. That brought goosebumps and tears to my eyes!

The monarchy is the only thing that Britain has left to make it different from everywhere else. I am protestant from Norn Iron and so I am very much British through and through and a Rangers supporter. At every football match we will sing the national anthem of God Save the King.
I met the Queen as a child and sang in front of her. The day she died I stopped smoking after decades of smoking.
lol the great thing about life is we can all be different and have different opinions.
Charles was called a fruit cake in the 70s when he warned about the climate, yet everything he foretold has come to fruition. They do a ton of good. That ginger child though, he can stay in America.
Anyway here's to a cracking June for everyone.

Yeah, admittedly, my heart sank too when she passed on. I really thought she was going to make it to 100. but 96 (I think it was) is one hell of an inning!) .

Charles had plenty of really wonderful and forward thinking ideas. If only his life hadn't been caught up in so much propaganda and scandal. People were definitely not focused on the right things and that's most likely because the powers that be were not ready to hear what he had to say.

He definitely could have made far more of a difference if he was allowed to assume the throne earlier and could have avoided so much pain for all parties involved had he just been allowed to marry the love of his life to start with.

Hi Ed, I waited for Friday to see what the "she" was, so I had a look, and I see that you fumbled with something that looks like football. Maybe I am wrong and today is Wednesday, as I am old and forget the days !LOL

Hi Zac, oh you haven't forgotten the days. But these females love to keep us waiting.
The post is going out tomorrow, I was just checking up on some details as she is there to promote an event which should be of interest to people. It is for me and I know yourself too. I will let you know when she is posted.
In the meantime I hope you have a magical weekend.

Just a bit of a rag my friend, and you are right as the females always have a reason about their tardiness.

Great, until tomorrow then, and now you have interested me even more with your sales talk about a special event. Maybe it will be something good, but I must be careful, as I don't trust Scotsmen very much. !LOL
Hope your weekend is also good.
