Wednesday Walk: A Corner Garden

A friend of mine lives in one of the charming corner houses nearby. She’s got one of the most flower-packed yards around, and I often pass by during my walks just to admire it.

Although she only grows a handful of common varieties, they're planted with such abundance and care that her garden feels like a gentle burst of color. It is simple, yet stunning... truly a beautiful sight.

It's beautiful, isn't it?
The way her garden spills color into the street
is an invitation to pause and breathe.

Even the simplest blooms
seem to glow brighter under her care.
Her flowers are all dancing in the breeze
like they know they're loved!

I find myself slowing down when I pass by,
just to take it all in.

It's not just the flowers. It's the feeling they give.

Well, that's the end of my little walk. I can see my house peeking around the corner. It's been waiting for me with a cup of tea and butter cookies I made yesterday. And my feet are ready to retire!

What a tidal wave of colorful blooms!
I bet it was more awesome in the spring time.

I may likely forget about my irrecoverable front lawn and plant more flowers, it's more moss and weeds than grass. For now the soil is mostly depleted over the years of neglect prior to my medical leave, I was so busy then. For a start it needs more fertilizer, but that depends on what I will plant there in the future. Choices, choices and more choices.

Or replace some of the soil, sis! I remember replacing a portion of soil (rather added a substantial amount, after removing a portion ot it) in my first home!

I should show how butter cookies are made... but I chose not to. The secret to crunchy butter cookies that melt in your mouth! How selfish of me !LOL @silvertop. Well, that's because I don't even know if the recipes I've been sharing are read at all. So it doesn't really matter!

Oh wow, that's quite the garden. It makes me think of our house before we bought it. the lady that lived there before had it all decked out with flowers and stuff. We tried to keep up with it for a while, but our hearts just weren't in it and most of them are gone now.

It’s nice that a simple corner can feel so full of warmth and invitation, making you slow down and really take it all in. Your friend’s garden is a little pocket of magic tucked into the neighborhood.

Your home's welcome postcard is welcoming—flowers. When I think of fresh flowers, I immediately picture butterflies, a simple and beautiful creature, something I imagine is common at the entrance to your home.

Butterflies... yes, @josiva. There are lots of butterflies, bees, and birds in my neighborhood.
It's beautiful (minus the fences), just as your neighborhood is pretty!
