Wednesday Walk : There's always flowers.

No matter where my walk brings me in the neighborhood,
there are always flowers.

Not just the kind that bloom in neat rows along someone's front porch, but wild ones too. The ones that grow through sidewalk cracks or lean lazily like they're eavesdropping on the street.

There's the house in the corner with a front yard that's basically a jungle. And a bushy plant grows with something like lavender and white flowers with a stigma 👇 similar to a hibiscus... I still haven't identified. The owner is never outside, but I imagine they're the kind of person who talks to the plants and lets the garden decide what it wants to be.

I think this one is called a Cherry Float 👇, and this is a rose that is commonly planted in our part of town.

It grows vigorously and flowers heavily in medium-sized clusters of 2- to 4-inch, velvety red semidouble blooms with 10 to 15 petals and a moderate tea fragrance. The flowers "pop" against glossy, dark green foliage; repeat throughout the season, from late spring to late fall; and make lovely cuts for bouquets. Source

And the pink ground cover roses! They are like little bursts of cheer that refuse to be ignored. The spread low, bloom hard, and make even the scruffiest dirt look charming. They're the kind of flowers that don't need a spotlight to steal the show.

It's not the flowers themselves, though. It's the way they show up. Quietly. Persistently.
Like they're reminding me that beauty doesn't need permission.

It feels like the neighborhood is winking at me. Like it's saying,
"Hey, you're not alone. We're still blooming."

Nature always has hidden surprises. And these surprises around the neighbourhood alwsys make our day beautiful. Cherry float us very similar to Hibiscus....but agin its the nature that diffrentiate them. Recently I too noticed a unique flowering plant in my neighbour. May be i will make a post on it sooner.

This development (the small neighborhood where my house is) is separated from others by streets on two sides and the freeway on one side (shaped like a triangle). On the freeway side... are vast agricultural fields planted right now with corn!

I like the unknown Hibiscus-like white and violet bloom. I'm wondering if this could grow up here above the 49th Parallel. Violet and white is my late roommates favorite combination binary.

I think that is a type of hibiscus flower, but with a different coloration.
But, who would not want to go for a walk when you can see those beautiful flowers?

Wow, that's impressive. We used to have a lot of flowers in our yard from the lady that lived in the house before us, but we suck and keeping stuff alive, so most of them are gone now!

We still have our aloe plan and we have managed not to kill it yet. Along with that we have some ferns on the deck that my wife has managed to keep alive, so we might be turning a corner!
