Our Gazebo on Wednesday Walk

Each time @tattoodjay featured a gazebo in his articles, I would comment that I would take a photo of the gazebo in our town.

I finally had the opportunity to take a photo of it... so now I could show it. I took this photo at 11:00 in the morning. I lucked out because nobody was there.

I didn't realize that years have gone by since the first time @tattoodjay posted a gazebo! I think it was seven years ago. And he has shown a gazebo three times, at least.

The surroundings of the gazebo are quiet. The gazebo is located in the center of a block, with streets on both ends far enough that you don't hear the cars.

Frank S. Freeman is generally regarded as the founder of Woodland 1.

Freeman grew up in Missouri. He joined the army when he was fourteen years old, served for two years until his discharge, In 1849, at seventeen, he came to California in search of gold. After six months and earning $3,000, he settled in Yoo County north of Cache Creek, about 16 miles west of what later became Woodland. 1

The plants are pruned, and the grass is well-manicured. The gazebo and the entire area are pretty much maintained.

It is very spacious. I can imagine weddings happening here, with the entire gazebo decorated with flowers! During holidays, such as July 4 and Christmas, the gazebo takes on a festive role in celebrations. I might write about it in the future.

On one side of the street are residential homes. But the other side is our Main Street and the start of downtown Woodland, marked by the imposing Courthouse!

Woodland (founded in 1861) has a classic Main Street downtown which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

July 4th is just a few months away, sis! I hope I remember!
The entire downtown area is listed as a National Historic Place. So pretty much, practically the entire Main Street is preserved.

I picture a brass band playing pop favorites in the gazebo on a bright summer day then change over to a Gothic Metal band at the moonlit night.

I Know this is a Long Interview with the CEO but I am finding it fascinating that there maybe an International Goldback in the Future...........

Florida 5 Goldback is still my Favorite so Far........

We have four high schools that have a brass band, and they play pop and jazz music in the town gazebo! But i haven't heard them play Gothic music and it does not mean they don't know it. I suspect several do!

Interesting that Frank S Freeman was the first postmaster.......
When we used to vacation in the town of "Plain Washington", the story goes at the postmaster asked the residence what they wanted to name their town. They said just give us a plain name, and the town was named......."Plain"😇😀👍

!LOL, so that was how it got its name! And I thought plain was plain as in a broad area of mainly flat lands.
It was the wife, Mrs Gertrude Freeman, who named the village "Woodland" because the place was surrounded by acres of Valley Oak trees.
It is a well-maintained gazebo, @silvertop.
