Driving with Friends on Wednesday Walk
I've crossed the Bay Bridge a thousand times with me driving... It's nice to be a passenger (for a change) in a car with friends!
Something grounding about being with people you trust in motion—like time softens just enough to let you breathe and observe. We drove through San Francisco... for fun!
As the car went through the Bay Bridge (I was seated at the back) and the iconic stretch of steel framed us like a postcard.
Crossing the bridge felt like gliding. Spontaneous conversations, laughter, and the ease of being together sink in...like the suspension cables cutting graceful lines through the sky.
There was not one single deep conversation, but somehow all the conversations mattered. The laughter, the sunlight, the easy silences... already one of those memories you hold onto without trying. Sometimes it is not the destination... it is the bridge.

My wife pretty much always prefers I drive, so it is weird to be a passenger on the rare occasion it happens.
Isn't it so?! We were three, and I had the back to myself! I felt lighter—less tethered, haha. I let my gaze linger on things until they simply slipped away. It’s a relief not to be behind the wheel this time. That is downtown SF 👇

It's nice to be the passenger for once over the Bay Bridge! You got some nice pictures. It's been many long years since I drove over that bridge, and come to think of it I never drove over the Golden Gate. Never had a reason to I guess. Sounds like you had a good time and that's what really counts!

When I moved to the North Bay, only the white building (condo) existed. Now, it is flanked by 3 much taller buildings, also residential dwellings, which I bet are expensive homes!

Two things that do us good: traveling and sharing good times with friends.
The time spent with friends is like therapy for us and we forget our mental worries while discussing the things of the world.
Being among friends is great. It helps you forget your problems and shows you simple but valuable things in life.
Or.....perhaps......it's the ones on the journey! I'm not sure I could go across the bridge; I have this thing about them. We once wanted to go down Highway 101 along the coast of Washington to Oregon. We ended up in Seaside, Washington as I refused to go across the Astoria Bridge. Much too long and I couldn't see the end of it.
