Following My Nose...
I had everything prepared for my afternoon! Found old photos from last year's summer road trip, uploaded them to the posts, sorted them according to the time they were taken, a story around photos was prepared in my head... The only thing that I had to do was to write a post... The idea was to leave home this afternoon for a long walk, far from home, to take a break, and use it to write and finish the post... but... the smell of blooming orange trees ruined it all... 😃 So, here we are, with a completely different #WednesdayWalk post!

I left home at 3 PM, drove for an hour, left the car with my wife, and took a walk... The plan was: 2 hours of walking, an hour of break, and an additional hour of walking after it, before going back to the car and driving an hour back home...
So, here I am, sitting in the coffee shop, that cake is already finished, the only thing left is coffee... sip after sip... 2-hour walk done, and you can see the "fruits" (no pun indeded) in front of you, and the rest will be done after writing these lines... Stay tuned for sea photos!! If I don't forget, I will post a couple in the comment section...
As you can see from the photos, the area where I was walking is an orange grove!!! The best part of the year to walk in that area is NOW!!! Trees are blooming, the smell of flowers is amazing, and I was lucky to have perfect weather for taking photos... It was windy, but that didn't ruin the photos...
The orange trees are specific as they bloom while they have the "last season's" fruits still hanging on the trees! I never saw anything like that before moving to Spain! What is the most curious, I remember very well when I moved here, and my parents came to visit us for the first time (first year)... It was the beginning of May, I was driving them from the airport, and while we were in the car, on the highway, we could sense the smell of orange tree flowers!!! You don't need an air freshener in the car in those days!
Back to today's walk... It was windy, but for the first time this year, I felt how sun getting into my skin... Summer is coming... As we had a lot more rain this year than we had in the last decade, there was a lot of greenery around! Believe me, that is not a typical image for this part of Spain.... Usually, everything is burned by the sun, and red!!!
I have even found a lot of flowers on my walking route... Also, on the images, you will spot my favorite tree, which gave me shade whenever I would take a photo! Before oranges, this area was famous for cultivating olives, medlar, and almonds... But the carob tree was one of the favorites! I suppose it didn't ask for a lot of "maintenance" and it is a very resistant tree... As Spain was a poor country, people would use the carob tree fruits for preparing "chocolate", coffee-like drinks, cakes, but also bread...

As my walk took place from one town to another, when I reached "civilization" the strong scent of orange flowers disappeared... But, the sea view in the back of the photo was another reward for a long walk...
The first "living creature" in the town was this cute cat... I called her to take a photo...

She loves me...

Yes, she loves me...

...or maybe not...
That's all for now... Gotta continue my walk and see that deep blue sea... I hope I will take some cool photos, so stay tuned in the comment section...
Thank you for your time,

I liked the cat thing.
Hehehehe.. It was a cute cat, for sure... But, she didn't want to come closer... 😃
Oh, and I expected a spring allergies post, when I read the title ;)
Hahahahaah... Luckily, I don't have any spring allergies! 🤓
But, I have friends who suffer a lot in these days...
..as promised..
Nice cool blue sea💪🥰
Now that alot of boats
Are they for sale?
No, that's a small local port with ordinary (mostly fishing) boats...
Wooow
That’s so many of them
Do they rent them out for people?
There are boat rental services, but most of those in the photo are private boats, for personal use...
Summer nostalgia here!
Hahha
The blooming orange trees did a great job cos I love all the green picture that I am seing here and those flowers are beautiful and the cat is cooler or maybe not😂. Great walk
Hahahaah.... She was not cool! 😜 Didn't want to come closer for a better photo... 😝
Not cool at all🤣
The cat wasn’t ready for any snuggling 😂
Cats can be dramatic though😁
Beautiful and high quality photos mate! When light combines with sightseeing, we can have such amazing photos 😉
It was a perfect day for taking photos, for sure!!! Last time I went for a walk, it rained all the time. 😃
I bet you didn't get to taste it 🙃
Oh, I had lessons and a rehearsal during the afternoon! And he was eating a cake??? 😱 I got to see it just through this photo
Woops! Nothing is a secret on the chain 😄
Hahahaha... This time, I kept the cake far away from the reach of the Cake Monster!!! 🤣
You're going to be in trouble tonight, eating a cake all by yourself !! 😆
This is a perfect walk, the scent of the orange blossoms fascinates me and the scent of the lemons, loquat... all of them! Seeing those trees in bloom brings back memories, too many... the cat, do you like cats? I love cats, they are wonderful! Long live cats! What a beautiful walk and what a nice walk.
Now... I see the pictures of the sea and the boats, I'm dying, I love them, thank you!
Not too much, but I did have a lot of cats when I was living with my parents... My mom still has 3-4 all the time... 😃
I'm glad that you liked the photos from this walk!! Thanks for checking out the post! 🙏
I have two Cata and Tony. A pleasure, I loved the walk!
Oranges are going to end soon, it's a winter fruit, it's becoming too hot for them... As you said last round of fruits
That cake must have lasted 1 minute 😂
Hahahaah... You guessed well regarding the cake! After a 2-hour walk, I was starving and the cake did disappear in around a minute... 🤣
It's a stunning landscape, the fruit is ripening, we are far behind and it has barely started to bloom here. But do you need an hour's drive to get there?
That is close to a place where we lived until last year... My wife still works there, so I used the time to go with her and walk around the area... Unfortunately, it is a 1-hour drive to get there...
Brother, if the ride ends with a cat, then it was worth it! 😻 For me a year has passed and I am still impressed with the beauty of Spain, from the architecture to the nature. I don't think I've ever seen orange trees on a tree, and they look great, just like the medlars, but the pictures I enjoyed the most are the ones of the flowers, I don't understand how you kept them so long hahaha, but I better not comment, I still have a thousand pictures of my trip to Spain and Colombia waiting for their time 😅
Hurry up to post all those photos from Spain, as you will maybe have a chance to take new ones... 🙂
And regarding this Spring, it is much better than any previous one that we had in Spain... Most of the time, spring is only 2-3 weeks long, as summer takes over and burns everything... So, trying to enjoy this year... 😃
Beautiful photos..
Are those fruits edible? They look like they'd be delicious.
Thanks!
Yes, they are edible... Check more about them https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mespilus_germanica
You can maybe find them in your local grocery shop!
What beautiful images in general. My favorites are those of orange trees. Maybe because I love the smell, the taste, and the beauty of orange blossom, and the orange is my favorite fruit. I almost experienced the sensation of the aroma.
As orange is your favorite fruit, this is a perfect walk for you!!! The smell was so strong that it's impossible not to sense it! Even over the computer screen... hehehehe... 😃
Oh man those oranges, can you pick one for free?
Well, they are on private property, but I suppose nobody would cut your hand for taking one... 😃
Btw. There are orange trees on the streets of many towns, so you can pick oranges from them... If you are high enough to pick... 😃
Thank you for such a detailed post. The pictures capture the landscape well, and I can almost smell the orange trees. I think if I were on this walk with you I would be too tempted to pick some of the fruits haha thank you for sharing!
Heheheeh... It looks like you are not the only one who would like to "pick oranges" on this walk... 😃 I didn't mention that oranges from this area aren't as sweet as people are used to eating... So, they using them for preparing orange juice with added sugar!
Oh, I know this kind of orange. I live in Vietnam now and there are a few different kinds of oranges, there is a kind with many seeds that they use specifically for juices ...and they also add sugar.
The sky is bright and weather is good. It was great walk by the orange grove. I have never seen an orange tree, so they have white blossoms too. It looks hot though but I think it's still suited for a comfortable walk. The cat was a willing participant heheh...
It is still Spring here, so it wasn't that hot... In summer, I wouldn't go out for a walk at this time of day, but rather early in the morning, or late evening...
Following your nose XD Does that work?
That cake looks so delicious and fresh, I hope you bought one for the mipiano.
I think I know what medlar is, it has a sour taste, doesn't it?
Wherever your nose, you're going behind it... 😂 Except if you walk backwards... 🤣
If I had to describe it in my words, it would be like a mix between apricot and plum...

You are welcome! Happy to see that you liked it! 🙏
I've never seen such plumpy oranges before. I mean you could literally see them bulging from the green leaves. People living in such areas wouldn't need air freshener for real.
As for the flowers pictures. You must've done a lot of bending and camera positioning to get that perfect bokeh effect.
The sun really came to the party though.
Finally, I always thought you were a native of Spain and that it was your home country.
tbh, not really... As those flowers were growing on the side of the road, I didn't have time to take photos... So, the effect is probably because of the phone more than my "photographer expertise"... 🤣
Yeah, camera did a lot of job but also I think you were intentional about the angles and all that.
The place is very beautiful and you made a nice worth walked here. Be safe and have a blessed day ahead.
Thank you very much! I'm glad that you liked the walk!
All the best! 🥀
